Parts interchangeability between CB500->CB750 for a chopper
« on: October 20, 2013, 02:52:12 PM »
i've read about parts that wont work because of model and frame size differences but i have a chopper.

they make a lot of custom engine, exhaust etc. for the 750 as compared to the 500..

points cover, dyno & amp cover, battery cover, tappet covers, exhaust collars & exhaust and the list goes on...

the 750 rear hub is better than the 500, this should work i believe as is or maybe re-spoke it to a new wider rim?

just trying to figure out what can i use on my 1971 cb500 Amen Savior Chopper?

tks,lou

The bike looks good. Are you going with the same size rim if your going with a 16 rim your bike will set differently.  What you need is some invaders on it. The only bad thing about them though is the price. As far as your covers go they do make some finned covers for those bikes hard to come by. The alt cover you can bondo over it and paint it or slap a decal on it I've done to 3 of my bikes and it has held up. Same as the points cover. Your lucky you have a sissy bar that fits good same as the seat. Again that's a good looking chopper.
I've done a lot of things in my life that I'm not proud of...and the things I AM proud of, "are disgusting"

tks, for the reply & comment on my ride Jamesb..

invader rims do these come in both brake styles, shoe and disc?

i guess i'll ride with what i have and pick up things as i run across them...

Priority is the exhaust system i want both pipes to swoop up the rear with a fishtail, old school style...

not sure who can make this maybe a muffler shop using stainless and polish them or raw steel and chrome them and last powder coat them with chrome paint??????

anyone do a one piece exhaust system down the bottom and up the back?

tks, gents

The engines are totally different, your chassis is totally custom. Yes,no, maybe.
