This is 1" tubing, fits over the 20mm just about perfectly.  The washers are actually cutouts from some project in 16 gauge.

Right front engine mount will be one of the four mounting points. M18 bunk to be welded in.

I will try to get pics of my sidehack mounts, most of the time swivel, or double swivel capacity, makes things easier..

The black V mount, bolts to left side motormounts.. Dyno side.  Lefty hack..frame slides in and clamps. The other slides over rear part of frame, and mounts to rear passenger peg mount.

..the aluminum block mounts to frame, up below the steering neck. The other mount goes in outer front corner of frame. A threaded rod fits between the two, and stabilizes the outer part of hack to the bike frame.  Then the threaded rod between the mounts, can easily adjust the angle of the sidecar chassis to the bike frame, and take up any play. I ran a less adjustable one from rear shock mount to the outer side of the sidecar frame.

Friend of mine - US expat living in Prague - had Ural, interesting piece of machinery, lol.

Ural or Dnepr are the only motorcycles where finding metal shavings in the oil pan is nothing to worry about - they are left there from the factory  ;D

My brother is a side car guy!  My buddies dad bought a Dnepr new in 1980 and we rode the wheels off it for years.(45 minutes at a time in the summer - it would overheat and detonate so bad you had to let it cool off for half an hour).  My brother thought it was cool looking so -  a very long story short - he bought one and an BMW donor (1000 cc) and graphed the drive train into the Dnepr.  Turned out good.  That was in about '84 and he's been riding ("piloting" for you sidecar guys) it ever since.  He even did some safety wiring etc (to pass tech) and rode it to Maxton NC to land speed race. I think he may have just broken 100mph in the mile! Edit: In April '06 he went  98.752mph - a record at the time in  SC/PG 1000/4

I've got an NHRA chassis shop nearby and Drag race too. I'm thinking of using clevis' and heim end mounts with an adjustable tube with left and right threads to set toe and camber. That is if I ever build one. I'm leaning toward a cycle x 3 wheeler.

cool project!

question about the bearing spacer though. How do you keep it ligned up in the hub?
Or did you allready calculate the fact the bearings are thinner and made the spacers bigger/longer than the original one?

The spacer is a copy of what Honda used on the front wheel.  I just made it for the 20 mm axle.

But i decided not to use this wheel, got a Comstar to match Red's rear wheel.  Also 18" instead of 19" will help with the geometry.
