Honda CL 100 Tank Interchange
« on: October 22, 2013, 11:09:22 AM »
off topic but hey, Honda people so someone may know. Picked up a really nice 1 owner bike. 1972 with 500 miles on it,, tank is mint EXCEPT somehow the bottom rotted away ( inside of tank is like new ! ) lol...anywho can anyone tell me what other model Hondas share this tank so I can do a wider search for one. I will in time get this one repaired but for now.

Thanks

Pretty sure the CL tanks are a little shorter than the CB's.. and the seat is a little longer. If you change the tank, you'll likely have to change the seat as well. I know the frames are all the same (CB/CL 100/125) so any paired-combo should work. You should be able to look up the part number and do a reverse check to see which models fit what. Good luck!
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

I have two tanks for what I'm pretty sure are 175 twins. I think one is a cl and one a sl.  Not sure what mods would be required but I know on the 450's are like what tug describes with tank and saddle.

I wonder, was the sl the same frame?
