Frustrated with my 750
« on: August 27, 2006, 08:40:33 AM »
So this is the last weekend before things pick up at work for me.  So I think I will tinker with the 750 - fix the clutch adjustment issue, adjust the throttle cables, put the brakes back together and head around the block a few times to get a few miles on it before winter comes.

No matter how much I bleed the fronts the lever still goes all the way to the grip. Stops the wheel when I spin it but not exactly a confidance builder for the highway.

I adjust the clutch following Clymers and go to test it.  I have the bike running on the center stand and kick it into gear.  The clutch is in and the wheel takes off. ok adjust the cable at the grip until I have clutch action.  twist twist start the bike an check, repeat, Swear. The cable end snapped off.  I ordered a new one on ebay so I should have it in a day or two.

I will make the most of it and change the oil since I had it running enough to heat up the oil.  It is nice and cloudy and smells of fuel.  I am hoping it is from the bike sitting for 3 years before I got it not because the rings are shot.  It has 22,000 miles on the clock.

Ok I am done venting.  Time to go bang my head into the wall.
