Spotted this at my local Honda dealer, thought it was pretty cool. Any info on these bikes?

Can everyone see all the pics? I've been having a heck of a time lately with both this forum AND Photobucket. I see some red X's, but not sure if it's just me or the pics didn't load correctly.

Pictures look fine.

I believe this model was released by Honda for a short while, as a factory reproduction of their 60's racing model.  It was only available for one season in limited numbers and was never intended for street registration/use.  It probably is intended for track only or for serious collectors.  Neat little bike tho.

Hondanut is correct, they were released in 2004 in smallish numbers for race use only. More correctly called Dream 50R or CB50R they were based on the roadgoing Dream 50 but with lots of HRC goodies fitted. The price quoted on your dealer's ticket is about the same as they sold for in 2004 so they really have not appreciated a whole lot. Having said that, there is one in the UK on EBay (Item 150923451883)  for £8,999 so someone is hopefull. The engine screams ! I've had mine beyond 15k revs without any bother at all when going down the street, errr testing on a private closed track. Mine's in my living room beside the TV, often where there is s**t on the box I turn it off and look at the bike. If you have the money to spare go for it, but it really is just a collector's item, but a nice one !

Kev, how fast will it go?

Hard to say, I don't think I've ever had it out of 4th gear. I replaced the standard exhaust with a 2 into one system from Takegawa and of course removed the baffle so it makes A LOT of noise (like a CR110). So without getting it to a track it's hard to say. I know for sure that once when giving it a handfull and changing into second, the front wheel came right up. I have a Takegawa dry clutch for it that I must fit some day. You can see an example of this at : Honda Dream50 Full Takegawa. BVT Crew.

If you want something for the road I'd say it's best to go for the Dream 50 (not the R) and have some fun customising it. Takegawa have big bore kits that will take it to 125cc. Really you could spend any money, there are so many goodies available for them.

BUY IT ;D  Super Cool, and SUPER Hard to Find 8)  But, yeah, pretty much a collector's item/track day toy for anyone in the U.S.

As an owner of a CB50V I sure like the dry clutch as in the original CR110 too bad you have to take the engine apart to fit the clutch mainshaft. Maybe I can find a used Dream 50 engine  a CB50R would eeven be better hey I can dream. LOL
