Oh yeah, by the way, I am that idiot that tried to unscrew the jets!!

Takes one, to know one. Love the self-deprecating honesty. Haven't laughed that hard in too long! I may want to pay for your rebuild kit as compensation for the entertainment...

It finally fired on both cylinders a few weekends ago.  It only ran for a brief time but it showed life on both sides.  Now I need to run new cables, put new fuel lines on and then fire it up again.  I feel pretty good that it will run now.

Once its running right I will have to decide what to do with the bike.  I could tear it apart and restore it.  The negative to that is that I will never get my money back out of it.  The other thing I could do is "arrest" the decay.  That keeps it in the state of a barn find and does not let it get any worse.  I am more inclined to go that way with this bike.

What's your version of "arresting the decay" ?
 
I found a product recently called Fluid Film,which is used mainly for keeping steel from rusting;it's a great product that's a spray-on oil that stays-put & bonds very well to the metal.

Sometimes the best you can do is just make it less crappy than it was when you got it, and then ride the hell out of it! :)

Every bike I buy, i buy it with the intention to make it better than when I bought it.  I will never have the skills to do a 100 point restoration and I accept that.  I also understand that with the skill set that I do have, I can make bieks better then when I buy them.
