Random Question, how did you go about lowering the front end? Also do you or anyone have a link to where I can get the rear lowering blocks? I want to lower a 550 so the girlfriend can fit on it without tip toes.
Okay......fabbed/hammered out some of the new alloy tank for the CB500. The top is a little more squared then I was really wanting, but.....i'm really starting to like it more square. Seems the more a look at it...the more I like it. Still need to weld in the other side and form up a tunnel. Not bad progress for just a few hours in the garage tonight.Enjoy the pics!!...this next image makes the top of the tank look strange for some reason....Later,Greg
Looking sweet Greg !Are you gonna clear over the tank once everything is done ?
You obviously have a good project going here, but what are you using to resize your photos? It's making the lines on the bike look like ass, which you already know.Jeff
Some cheap program that came with my $29 scanner I bought like 5 years ago......its crap!!! I'd rather throw money into the bikes, than into my 7+ year old computer.
greg,have you tried flat clear
Go here:http://www.irfanview.com/Download it, it's free. Use that program instead of the turd program you're using now.Jeff
your bike is sick, I love it...how low is the front end and can you lower the front end 2.5 inches safely through the triple trees?I was thinking of getting the lowering blocks from JC whitney and I have already undun my triple tree I like the lower profile, I don't care about the ride...lower is better.
and the tank looks awsome, im gonna do somthing similar but candy the swirled parts
What are the handlebars? Looks like they are 1" in the center and slim down to the stock 7/8" for mounting the controls? How did you mount them on the triple tree?
Good Looking Bike,Although the tank has been the ongoing topic, I am curious about the foot rests and the shifter and brake controls. What did you use and where did you get them. If you made them....can you give details, and closeup pics?
Also.......got the bike up and running over the weekend. Put on some new Maxxis whitewall tires...along with the new 16" rear rim. Still need to finish the exhaust and seat. Will post some new pics later tonight.
