Did a quick tune up on it tonight....new points/condesors, plugs and oil. Just got back from running her around the neighborhood......SHE RUNS NICE!!! Sounds real good with the 4 into 2 open exhaust. Wish I had a digital cam to shoot some video of it.......maybe Santa will bring onel ;D

I'll keep you guys posted as it gets the final detailing........

I'd love to see a back view photo to get an idea of how those side covers flow, but from the side they look WAY better than they did before. Love the whitewalls, and I also like the fact that you still have a front brake. I don't get why people sacrifice 80% of their braking power just for looks. Doesn't look like any corners were cut ;)... definite BOTM potential.

It's hard to tell in the pics... do you have a fork brace on there?

Thanks for the compliment Sam.

I dont know what has happened but here lately i'm really likeing those bikes that have that old school "hot rod" bobber look.........and lowered. Been seeing a few hard tailed XS650 on the net and really caught my eye. Dont get me wrong.......first love is still my cafe's, but its kind of nice to stray from what you do..day in and day out. I'm thinking(in the future) about doing some kind of hardtail (pub jumper) CB450 or CB500 twin......with just the basics.....internal throttle and trying to hide all the electricals.....brake lines, etc...lowered...alot of hand made one off parts(tank,etc).........but still very racey looking!! ;D

This bike has been alot of fun putting together and thanks to everyone for the comments. ;D

You build that twin over the winter, and then in the spring we can compare to the one I am doing  ;D

Greg, If I remember right, you said something about possible doing a 450, a little while back. I'm kinda anxious, myself, to see just what kind of a twist you put on one. Your 500 four isn't really my cup of tea but, gotta admire the effort and detail that you've worked out on it. When you attack a project, you really go all out and that is what really has me enthused about the possibility of a 450 or 500 twin project. As with the others, I a waitin. Keep up the great work and I'll catch you later on,  Bill

PT & Bill.........I wish I could do a 450 or 500 twin this winter....just too much going on. Hell....still need to finish the CB350RR project with the GSXR750 inverted forks. ;D

Really though......sometime in the future the 450 or 500 will start coming together. I'd really like to start from the ground up...starting with building a complete one off frame. I have always liked the race bike look.....but want to add to that.....something racey....but still with that low look(so low you dont need a kickstand...just sit it over on the frame rails... right PT?? ;D ;D).

Who knows.....i'll come up with something. Its amazing what a 12 pack of Miller lite and a few hours in the garage will bring!!! ;D

When you rode the scoot, did you ever bottom out the back tire ?
With short shocks AND lowering blocks I would think you would have some sorta
tire to bottom of seat "loving" ?

There still is about 4"+  of clearance back there and its pretty stiff. I still havent had it out on the road yet.....just around the neighborhood. Biggest bump I have hit is the curb at the end of the driveway.......no problems. Still need to finish the front brake, license plate holder and some other items before its road worthy.
