Well,I'm still not up and running yet due to LOF(Lack Of Funds!) Been there and tried this yet? Bet most of you have at one time or another.Anyhow, I'm saving for rear tire,chain,sprockets,rear shoes and I am going to go with Dennis Kirk.Total parts bill including a cool looking duffel bag and a Clymers manual comes to $406.00.Well...while waiting to get all of that stuff, Now I am wanting to do my carbs because I never have done them before and I am having rough idle problems.My bike came from Riverton,Wyoming (5000 Ft. elevation) and is now in Modesto,Calif.(at probably 50 ft.). It sat outside in Wyo. in sub zero weather for the winters but it always fired up and ran good during the summers.When I got it in 2000, it had rust in the tank but I have kept it filtered and cleaned out the best I could.I am now running a tank that I got on Ebay for $50.00. This tank has some dents but is clean as can be inside.I am going to try some of the tank treatment suggestions that I always see posted here for my old tank.Meanwhile,I will run the clean one with the dents. Ultimate plan...2 clean dent free tanks...one with custom paint that I haven't decided on graphics yet ! The other back to bone stock.Anyhow...I seen K&L carb kits at Dennis Kirks for $19.00 each and they look pretty complete.Has anyone used these? Are they OK or is there something else better? I read some of the Greenspun Archives and heard of some members complain about Napco kits.If I don't get any better advice from the club,I will probably get the K&L kits from Dennis Kirks. Also,I am assuming that my carbs are stock so I will have to do some research on my jet size.I have switched from stock 4 to 4 pipes to a Kerker 4 to 1 with no baffle (On top of moving 4500 ft. closer to sea level).My old stock pipes ran with no baffles every since I bought the bike but in the last couple of summers,both left pipes blew out on the bottoms of the muffler section.Any one looking for the right side pipes? They are still OK.

gday,cant help with the other stuff but when it all goes back together make sure your rubber manifolds between the carbs n head are perfectly air tight,a smear of silicon can help with old hard rubber.This way you wont have rough idleing and will run smoother
