picked up a 79cb650 rotor with cover and bolts but bolts are way to long. I'm sure im going to make a tone of mistakes but, does the 79 not fit an 81 spoked wheel? Or just get new bolts?

Only diff i have found in the 79-81 rotors are in the 81 custom being thinner with the dual disks. The wheels seem to be in a few diff widths. But it was my understanding the 79 was on of the narrowest. Maybe you just got sent the wrong bolts. Or it wasnt the original front on the 79.

If it was off the '79 650 it could be off a Z model which has twin discs
