And a side note on the rear sprocket...the 4 nuts were only finger tight...what the heck??? Lucky the nut locks were in place. Appears the sprocket was changed out and the PO forgot to torque it.

hall...we have about 6 inches on the ground with another 1 - 3 on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Got the forks and tree off and will be dismantling those and polishing the legs. Need to do some painting on some of the black items like the tree, center and side stands, foot pegs, etc. Once that is done I can get at the forks.

Finger tight bolts?  Would make me check every other bolt on the bike.

Steve-o...I paint in my attached garage as I did not put in a booth. Maybe will do the booth someday, but for now the garage works good with the overspray.

Today I dismantled the forks. I like how easy the fork seals come out on the KO's. I will clean and polish them. Got the rear wheel cleaned and the sprocket back on. Still need to clean those spokes...any volunteers :) Weather here is below zero and gladly working inside...no biking for a while around here.

Looking good Johnie ;) Below zero, now that's cold :o It was 19 degrees the other morning here in Greensboro, NC and I thought that was bad. You must be use to those frigid temps. Have you lived in this area your whole life?

Hall...yes lived in this area my whole life. Used to the weather. Get this - tomorrow morning the wind chill will be -25 to -35. Glad I am on vacation this week.

 What type of heating system do you have in your home and also in the new shop to keep the CB's warm. Ever have trouble with frozen pipes, etc. when temps dip that low?

Hall...natural gas in the home and shop. I insulated the heck out of the home & shop. I keep the temp at 58 in the shop.
Stev-o...that paper on the shop table, I have a ton of it. The guy who does all my chrome wraps all the parts in that stuff. So I just cut it up and use is on the bench or as shop towels. Nothing goes to waste...  :)

Finished the shocks and have those back on. I am pleased with how they turned out. I did not chrome just cleaned and polished. Here is before and after pics. Got my wire sleeving and special tape from Vintage Connections. Talk about fast shipping...wow...Happy New Year!

Today I got the new wiring harnes sleeve installed. Next will be doing some polishing of the forks, rear brake housing and more painting. Carbs are ready to be finished just have not got to it yet with the holidays and all.

Actually painted in the garage, but let it cure in the kitchen. To cool in the garage for curing. I have not used the oven...that could be bad. :)
