81 cb750 dohc - 823 with keihin 29mm carbs- stalled?
« on: October 27, 2013, 07:07:01 PM »
Hey guys, bike has been running fine for a few tanks, and yesterday while riding it showed symptoms of running out of fuel and stalling,

started again and idled for a sec then stalled again.

Thought it was a fuel blockage but checked the lines and everything is flowing into the carbs fine.

Would you guys have any idea what problem it could be?

Basically idle is ok, then on throttle it flattens out like its out of petrol and stalls.

Dont really want to continiue riding it in case it's doing damage or if it dies on me again.

Do you have have idea what it might be?

Mods- 81 dohc cb750, weisco 823 kit, dyna ignition, kehin cr29mm carbs.

Also it's only ridden around inner city so hasnt been revs to the max much.

Thanks

Did you check to see if the petcock is plugged up at all?  My 79 was running low and when I flipped it to reserve it immediately died.  My tank was pretty rusty and rust flakes clogged up the reserve part of the petcock.  Or it may be as simple as a dirty filter. Either way, if the lines are clear ud check the petcock and filter assembly.

I'm assuming this is the stock CV carbs..
