weird mini-bike
« on: March 17, 2012, 06:49:52 PM »
Does anyone recognize this mini-bike? My buddy bought it at a yard sale years ago, because it was so unique.

I like the rear brake setup. Nope, I do not know the brand name, never saw one of those out here in California. Maybe a local builder in your area?

That looks homemade to me.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

No, it does not appear to be a one-off, homemade rig. In fact, it has a stamped serial number, 2xxx.

Looks very similar to the first 'bike' I had before getting a real dirt bike (a yammy self mixing 2 stroke 80)...pull cord and everything...mine was blue, and had lower bars IIRC.

It doesn't look like it's had much use.
75' CB400F/'bunch o' parts' & 81' CB125S modded to a 'CB200S'
I love the small ones too !

Thanks to dave500's post of the old magazine pages, I now know the mini-bike is a Powell Challenger 100. Thanks Dave!

I had noticed a reference to Oz on the "number plate" sticker, so I wondered if there was a down-under connection...
