Valve timing half done?
« on: October 29, 2013, 05:19:55 PM »
Assembling my top end, i threw away my ignition plate cuz i was going to replace it, so i only have half of the things to time it to as per the Clymers and factory manual.

So my question is, can i align the cam tang with the cam holders with cylinders 1,4 @TDC and be ok with just lining up the ignition timing later? Until i know i can go no further with installing rockers and top end  :'(

Hi.As long as you have the advance unit installed, you can set the cam timing as per the manual.
