1976 CB550 Front Master Cylinder Rebuild Issue
« on: October 29, 2013, 05:42:49 PM »
I'm rebuilding my front master cylinder and ran into a problem. I removed the lever, rubber boot, metal clip for the rubber boot, and the c clip but the piston isn't coming out. Tried soaking it in some seafoam and gently pulling on it with some needle nose pliers but it feels like it's not wanting to come out at all. It will depress fully and brake was functional when I removed it from the bike. Any advice will be appreciated.

Never mind. Was able to free it by pushing the piston in with an allen wrench and letting it pop back out.
