Has anyone received a shipping notice for their CB750 pipes yet?  I thought they were supposed to ship in January.

I got this on the 25th
Good morning, You have chosen to buy exhausts from us and we thank you for choosing! For the following reasons the delivery is slowed down about 20 days. We apologize for the inconvenience but product quality and control is everything to us. We could just take the carton stick the label and ship it as it is. But it's not like us! Each muffler is opened, checked piece by piece and polished before shipping. If (hopefully not) there is the slightest imperfection, we are forced to delay delivery to avoid bad impressions. Each piece is packed with meters (kili) of bubble wrap and carefully placed inside the box, All mufflers are shipped via dhl / ups courier This means you must be present to receive the parcel. IMPORTANT: All our packages containing mufflers are not insured (unless requested by the customer) for the value of the contents. If the package is damaged upon receipt, we will replace the piece (ONLY if the package is accepted with reserve). It will be NECESSARY to accept the package with reserve whatever the state of the package you will receive in order to be able to help you. IF THIS METHOD IS NOT INDICATED UPON RECEPTION, IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO HELP YOU. We sincerely hope that this message is useless and that the mufflers have arrived as shipped but in any case we try to warn the customer. If the package received is: damaged, broken, bent, you must ask the courier to report the condition of the box and in the condition it was received. Don't forget to take a picture of the box you received and don't hesitate to contact us by email motorcycling, your team knock silencers .

It sounds like they received a shipment of pipes that aren't up to their quality standards, so they are inspecting each unit to identify defects and fix them. I have to wonder how much polishing can be done to repair cosmetic defects in pipes that are already chromed. I'm starting to worry.

Just them explaining how they assure high quality of the products they sell. It should make you feel better about your purchase the level of care to ensure your pipes are built to spec and look as good as they sound.

Their ETA was likely the ship date they anticipated… but delays are very common with so many things breaking down during the pandemic. Lots of knowledgeable folks retired or died as a result of the pandemic and many of them were the grease that made things move smoothly. I’m amazed at the continued impacts to manufacturing’s ability to make products like tires.

Busso has done some good things  from what I can see. But notifying customers of the delay earlier would have been better. At least they are on track with a delayed delivery/ship window. I have dealt with one huge company and they have no scheduled date to resume manufacturing of a product they have been out of stock on nationwide for over 6 months now… talk about crazy.

I just pulled the trigger on 350F pipes -- been hoarding for a potential semi-resto, I guess. I went back and forth with them a little on some stuff -- it's not clear what exactly you get in the package when you buy the silencers because the picture includes the stand stop and the clamps. When I asked, they told me it was explained on the site... but it's not, really. So I just added them to my cart. I'm not in a hurry -- but at leasdt they're going DHL. If it was mail I'd never get them here. And with the USD stronger against the Euro seemed like the right time to get em to add to the hoard.

I ordered a CB350F exhaust system from Busso on November 5, 2022, and it arrived via DHL on December 18, 2022.  I sent them an email a week after placing my order asking when my order would ship and I received a reply within 24 hours that my order would likely ship by the end of the month.  I received an email from them on December 5, 2022, stating that my order was being shipped.  I received a notice via the Shop app I have on my phone that the shipment was picked up on December 6, 2022.  The order was delivered on December 18, 2022, and a signature was required.  The parts were well packed and undamaged.  I can confirm that meters (and meters) of bubble wrap were used.

I also had difficulty discerning what components needed to be ordered for a complete system.  The order I placed was for the following items, as if they were “ala cart”: manifolds (headers), silencers (mufflers), flanges, copper washers (gaskets), bands (clamps for mufflers to header connection) and a universal rubber (stand stop).  What I got was all of these items plus an additional 4 bands and 1 universal rubber.  It would appear that the bands and rubber are included with the purchase of the silencers.  This makes sense but is not clear when view the website without understanding Italian.

I had some questions about the configuration of the short tubes welded to the front ends of the right-side mufflers (they are angled differently from the tubes on the left side mufflers) and received an email reply within about 24 hours. The reply addressed my question and armed with that and a careful review of some photos posted on the Busso Silencers Facebook page I was able to determine that the same right side tube orientation was present on the CB350 example bike they show. As one can see from the images on the Facebook page, the headers will require cutting.

The Busso mounting bracket is located on the lower pipe and is hung from the rear foot peg bolt. The upper pipe is then attached to the lower pipe via a tab with hole on each pipe. The bolt that connects the lower and upper pipes was not included in my order. Truthfully, I wasn't aware that one would be needed and did not look to see if they sell such a bolt. As such I sourced chrome bolts that should work well and look period correct for the bike.

My experience was a good one.  I am very pleased with the Busso exhaust pipes and feel that they represent a good value. I also feel that they did a good job with prompt communication and were kind enough to reply in English since I don't speak Italian. Given my experience to date I recommend Busso Silencers to anyone looking for a 4 into 4 replacement exhaust system for your Honda CB350 Four.  In full disclosure, I’m not mechanically and am hiring a local shop refurbish my ’74 CB350F, but I think that the installation will be easy, especially for someone with experience.

Regards,
Brad

Very helpful info, thanks. I asked them if I needed to buy the bands and the rubber stop directly and that's when they told me to look at the site -- which isn't clear. So looks like I have an extra set of bands and a stop. Sicne I ordered yesterday maybe I can cancel that part of the order. And yeah, the right and left sides are little off on these with stock, so not surprised these are too.

From Busso:

"We could just take the carton stick the label and ship it as it is. But it's not like us! Each muffler is opened, checked piece by piece and polished before shipping. If (hopefully not) there is the slightest imperfection, we are forced to delay delivery to avoid bad impressions"

So does that suggest that Busso don't manufacture these. Maybe they are the same as the DSS ones.
