That is not cheap!
I bought mine Yamiya No numbers  2015.

The rate then landed at around $1250US (150.000 Yen)
+50% today!! :( :(

I just got my 4-4 set for my Z1 project and I didn’t pay anywhere near that. I feel lucky, I seemed to have timed it well. Dumb luck.

Maybe a good idea to investigate  Z1-900 new parts. Exhausts,  tank sets etc

Finding a project is not cheap, but the total can be not that bad then ;D

CB750 parts prices have increased some the last years.

First search like the CB750 no numbers should cost as max

 I like those. If I could back off on buying cb750's and sell a few, I'd make a z1 clone from my 80 ltd. Orange, brown 4-4's and a flat seat. Shocks with reflectors are available but forks with reflectors would be the hardest part.

Well, one thing seems to be true about the exhaust systems for the 750 and other vintage bikes. The price hasn't seen a drop, other than market fluctuating because of money exchange rates...
No one has came into the market making an equal quality set of pipes for much lower price to impact the asking price.

So, is it a good idea to grab a set of pipes as early as you can afford them, even if you don't need them right then, to have them later when you do, or to resell them later?

I guess it depends upon how much the prices are creeping higher with time if they are worth the investment...

That's where I bought the pipes for my Z1. It was about seven years ago and IIRC, they were about $1250 shipped, great product and price.  Still a fair price at $1380.  Back then, I would call and speak with the owner and he would discount prices if I was buying a large quantity of parts. Ahhh..the good ol days!

 The prices rise according to demand and right now we've been a year and a half with few for sale. I've been watching them pretty closely. I've paid from $1200 to $1800. An ebay seller repeatedly sold them until the market got soft, that's where I got the $1200 set. I could not believe I didn't get sniped at the end.

Yes,
I have had my no numbers on my K6, now my K2.
They fit K0-K6.
Bike will run better than it did with stock HM341.

 Jetting stock carbs for these better flowing pipes with stock airbox:
Air screw 1 turn out. (My K2 has -1/8)
Needles 4th notch from top
Main jet 115

Yes, that is very strange. Yamiya was the place before when all others had none.

The sudden price increase is alarming.

  A local used car dealer has let his lot go empty because he won't pay the auction prices. The only car left is a Dale Earnhardt edition Monte Carlo. $$  Maybe it's the same at Yamiya and WeBike.

I have seen a few Instagram posts of japanese guys(and gals!) getting new 4 into 4's recently.  Unfortunately, did not think to try google translate to see what might really be going on, and that is often pointless with Japanese anyway.  I wonder if they are just not being offered to the U.S. for shipping reasons?
If it works good, it looks good...

 Someone on Facebook said there are mountains of exhausts sitting in the warehouses in Japan but shipping is problematic due to the cost of containers. I'm not sure if this was opinion or if there is evidence.
  DSS is/was getting them somehow. He uses wooden crates to ship bikes and parts back and forth to the US. maybe they also go to Asia.
