Deer
« on: October 30, 2013, 01:39:54 pm »
After being bullied and beaten by the police of Czechoslovakia for significant part of my life, I have a great respect for US police force, but today I am pissed.

5:30 AM I have seen a deer hit by a car, the driver kept on driving, the deer struggled to get off the road, it looked like spine injury, with broken legs they usually get away on the adrenaline rush.  Anyway, I looped back to see how the doe was doing, she was in the ditch, alive, I called 911 and told them exactly where she was, gave them my name and number for reference.

During lunch brake, 11:30, she was still there, alive.  Siht!  So I called 911 again and told them where she was - this time it worked, half an hour later on the way back I saw just a dead deer in the ditch.

It is hard to believe that the county could not get there deputy to deliver genickschuss in 6 hours!  6 hours for the animal to suffer through, makes me angry!

Thanks for listening.

Virginia does not allow drivers to dispose of animals, only police force can do it.  I would not give siht about legality, but I was in my wifes jeep, with nothing but a pen knife, I thought calling the police would do.

I don't have a lot of faith in the police system, not so much individual officers, but the understaffed, under-paid and under-educated system as a whole.  I think a lot of the disconnect stems from the general public's sense of urgency vs. 911 dispatchers' sense of urgency in relation to anything less than a house fire, life threatening illness, or car crash.

In the last 2 years here in Phoenix, I've called in 3 obviously drunk-as-a-skunk drivers, followed them for quite some time waiting for police, only to never have them arrive.  I had someone road rage me off the road on the highway, also no response.  Theft?  No response, I'm not kidding about that one either.  I thought illegal target practice in an area for OHV use might get a response too... NOPE!

Next time, just off the doe, you know they're not showing up to cite you anyway.

Yes but wait until YOU do something out of line and the cops will be all over you. My thought about the deer was that if 70CB750 were to put it out of it's misery then the cops would be there in a heart beat to give him a ticket or arrest him for shooting a deer without a hunting license.
