I knew someone would have to respond to that comment. Well, at my age, you get that "experience" when you have your physical exam. I think I made a smartass comment to my doctor that he didn't even buy me dinner first. Not my idea of a Friday or Saturday night.

Thankfully, I have a few years until the dreaded colonoscopy procedure.

I think this is the route I'm headed. Man, clip ons are pricey for a coupla bits of aluminum :-/ I also picked up a set of pro grip gel grips. Now, just two more weeks of work, and I can ride. Being a grownup sucks.

They're supposed to use lube for rectal examinations? Damn, I'm getting a new doctor! Actually, I went to my doctor for a checkup, but he's retiring soon, so he arranged for me to be examined by a pretty young female doctor.

Never having been examined by a female doc I was a little shy I suppose, but she made me feel relaxed right away, and we were getting on fine when she suddenly stopped and said to me, "Terry, you're going to have to stop masturbating."

I was shocked! I said "Why?", (what had she found?) and she replied, "because I'm trying to examine you!

But back to the thread for a mo, those clipons are nice, but couldn't you make something just as nice Seth? I reckon there's less than 50 bucks worth of aluminum there, so a little machining and maybe a little paint, and boom! You're there. Cheers, Terry.

Soooo, I need a stator cover :-/ I had an incident at the shop yesterday while moving things around. It was terrifying, but the stator cover was the only thing I screwed up. I sacrificed my calf/shin to save the tank...tell ya what, that sucker is heavy. Anyone got a decent stator cover they'd sell me?

That's a bummer and a pain (for your shin!). At least the cover is something that can be swapped in easily. Sorry I don't have a spare or I'd send it.

Super bummer. Also, the Apex riser clip ons won't work for my setup

The clamps don't clear the tank. It's miserable to ride more than an hour with the stock clip ons. I will investigate drilling the top triple tree to set up bar clamps.

The way that they clamp to the fork seems very similar. I would be surprised if they cleared.

Another solution, but it ain't cheap - swap your triples for a set of Devin's new increased offset - back to stock. That should give you clearance.

Seriously, I gotta step away from the 750 for a little while, a it's taken over my spare time the last two years. I'll revisit the whole situation in the spring. I still wish I could get great photos of that paint...it's just so deep. In the meantime, I've been bombing around on the Urinal (as Terry likes to call it!). It's a hoot to ride! I just picked up this motor to swap into it.

I gotta at least re-seal the top end and clean it up. Hoping the bottom end is good. Has about 50k on it.

Seth - do you know the production date on that BMW motor? Pre-11/74 flywheel bolts are very susceptible to breakage. They're 12mmx1.0 I believe. After 11/74 changed to 12x1.50. Gotta change the crank if you do desire that swap, can't just swap the bolts (obviously).

I'm told, the other option, is to lighten the flywheel as it helps offset the shear weight and stress on those bolts. Given you're planning a sidecar, though I'd share that if you were unaware.
