Air filter box gasket
« on: September 10, 2020, 08:48:32 AM »
Hey everyone got a quick question, I am wrapping up an engine rebuild on my 750 and I'm ready to put the airbox back on but the gasket between the upper and lower is toast.  Any ideas as to what will work as a replacement?  It's one of the last few small details I have yet to tackle.

As always any and all info is greatly appreciated.

My wife occasionally buys pie filling in a small, plastic bucket. The lids have a soft “0” ring that compresses easily. I have cut them down and glued them in place , with good results.

Sometimes I just don’t bother. Any air that leaks in there still has to pass through the filter, so do you really need it?

Only in the way the bottom attaches to the top.  The later airboxes have bolts that go all the way through from the top, rather than the wing nuts on the bottom of the earlier airboxes.
