+1! Or Euro CB750K1 bars from DSS - I just bought a set and they are very very nice.

And if you sell that seat (I hope you dont) I want to buy it - such a clean bike! Great buy!

Thanks for the kind words. I don't think I'm going to sell the seat. I want to get the studs back on so I can put the stock seat on to ride now, but I will be putting an airtech seatpan on it over the winter. I want to keep all the parts in case I sell it and someone wants it, but this is going to be my sporty rider

I am still planning and planning color schemes. I am unsure what I want to do, I am looking at so many bikes. Part of me wants to use my same "Tuskey green" paint that's on Yolanda. It's technically one of a kind, it pops, I like it a lot.  I've also not seen any cafés that blue green color.  Any and all color schemes will be considered.

That pic was taken about 10 days ago just down the hill from Kingman, AZ, at some old dude named Gary Pena's place. Seems he used to drag-race SOHCs at sub-9 second quarter mile times.

Scottly that was right before he got back to ATL, he was telling me about his trip out to AZ.

I just ordered some parts to get me going. got some chrome superbike bars, genuine honda carb gasket kits, oil filter and air filter, clutch cable, throttle cables, oury grips, 530 chain and 17/48 sprockets. I also got a new DID rim for yolanda!

going to drain the oil, and drop the pan tomorrow. shouldnt expect anything funky but I want/need to check. madscientist has been a big help with the seat area so far. waiting to have my buddy come over and help me out with welding nuts into the frame so I can get my seat on it. one step at a time!

Its totally your bike but I love the black colour scheme - the whole bike looks badass to me already aside from the handlebars. If you were to find another just like it let me know as this is exactly what I am looking for in an F  - I used to have an F2 back in the UK and still miss that bike.

two new issues. one is the tank lid. it does not latch down and stay shut. its like I am missing some type of clip that locks down when pressed in but turs with the key and pops the lid back open. here are two pictures to show what I have. I cannot find the part in the fiche, or at least I don't know what I am looking for...





next thing is the airbox. took me a little bit to figure out how to remove the bottom. gotta love the wingnuts on the K models....well the left side came out fine the but the right....the hex head on the bolt on the bottom is stripped out in the airbox. its just spinning in the plastic. crap! I think I am going to use JB weld quick drying and glue another nut underneath so I can try to break it loose and get it off...the next step is trying to figure out how to repair this.  should I be looking for a spare airbox, or airbox bottom?



I removed the front highway pegs that were on there and switched my lowered shocks with yolanda. it feels much better now sitting on it. this one will get her own lower shocks but yoland aint going anywhere for now so I might as well utilize what I can.

she fires up immediately with the choke pulled all the way up. won't do anything with it off.....this is odd to me because with yolanda I never have to use choke. still going to get into the carbs to do a full clean. just curious if these F's are really that cold blooded?

Also I need a seat pan hinge. I have the part that attaches to the frame just not the part that attaches to the seat pan. I'll post up in the wanted section too.

and that is a common phenomena on those airboxes.  I've got two with that problem.  I can think of several ways to bodge them back together but, imo, they will never be right without replacing the bottom half.

I saw that clip on the parts fiche but I thought "there's no way that's what hold the lid down" haha. Good to know about the choke. She fires immediately, just need that choke. Different bikes, different procedures.

Seanbarney pending I get the bottom off that ways would you recommend making a temp fix other than hoping my jbwelded (after I get it out I can do a tack weld and smooth it out). Maybe this IS the best idea other than getting a new airbox. Anyone have one laying around?

Those final year bikes were tuned leaner than the older ones, so I'm not surprised full choke is required.

little update. I was missing that clip on the tank to allow the lid to lock down. didnt really feel like hunting on down so I cut and bent up a coat hanger to fit. took some tweaking and by all means it looks terrible

BUT it works. I can close my lid and open it the way it was meant to. not bad for 20 minutes of my time. hey, it was FREE
