Cleaning Tank inssues
« on: March 09, 2014, 09:35:40 AM »
Hey guys,

I have a question to ask you guys. I have a tank that i'm cleaning. Im wondering what would be the best way to remove the deposits that refuses to come out of the petcock area. I was thinking of using a vacuum but i'm not so sure if that would be a good idea? I have read this somewhere before but i couldn't find the thread now.

I have already removed the gas, diluted the tank with pinesol, then vinegar then evaporust so it's safe to say that the gas is gone. My issue now are the crap thats moving abouts wouldn't flow through the small hole :'(

Turn it over and dump it out the fill hole?

Filler hole isn't flush with the inside of the tank, usually there's a lip that hangs in the tank a bit. If you can get a shop vac attachment inside just suck the last of the debris out if it won't come out the petcock hole. Seeing as you've cleaned and rinsed it there will be no fumes to ignite and go boom.
