What magazines do you read/subscribe to?
« on: August 29, 2006, 11:46:31 AM »
Just curious to see what the forum uses for reading entertainment or technical information. I subscribe to:

Classic Motorcycle Mechanics (excellent for '70s/'80s Japanese motorcycle information)
Rider (modern bikes with a touring slant; NO wheelie photos!; an interersting retrospective each month)
Cycle Canada (just cancelled; lost interest in seeing crotch rockets every month)

I buy now and again:

Classic Bike (for my Brit bike interest)
The Classic Motorcycle (Ditto)
Ride (To keep up with all of the new bikes we don't get here in Canada)
Bike (Ditto)

Car and Driver
Motorcycle Classics

I need to subscribe to Classic Motorcycle Mechanics, but I never get around to it.  I NEED to find all the back issues that deal with ANY pre-78 Honda and buy them.

I subscribe to Motorcyclist, get Cycle News at work as well as Rider occasionally. Classic Motorcycle Mechanics is great but I have a hard time finding it.

I get it direct from the UK. Their overseas subscription rate is marginally better than the news stand price here.

don't subscribe to _any_ magazines....gave it up.  too many piles building up.

i do, however, hang around the bookstore on my lunch sometimes and check out Classic Motorcycle Mechanics, Classic Bike and whatever else they have.  sometimes pick one up.

Same with me until I came across Motorcycle Classics.  It's the only magazine I've ever found that I can read cover to cover, and be interested in every single article.

In the past, I've subscribed to: Cycle, Cycle World, Motorcyclist, Hot Rod, MotorTrend, Car Craft, Road and Track, Car and Driver, several 4 Wheel Drive magazines and  bought a lot of issues of Walneck's, also an issue of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics and now I just get Automobile to check out the latest in the automobile world. I check the others out at the news stand each month and I might buy one now and then  if there's enough to keep in there to make it worthwhile.

VJMC, Cycle World, Vintage BMW Club- all going away soon

I still love City Bike (a freebie from SF but I have to pay for it here).
The one I should sub to is Motorcycle Consumer news.  That's a very informative mag.
I get the Motorcyclist because I'm a life member of the AMA, but I don't read that much either.

Cycle World, AMA Motorcyclist (comes with the membership), Classic Motorcycle Mechanics (decent Brit wrenching). Antique Motorcycles, VJMC club Magazine. Just let subscription to Motorcycle Classics lapse--- pictures o.k. but no substance at all.  Get City Bike when I see it or read online.  Hustler? doesn't that one feature all those exotic chassis?

I've only seen it a couple of times, but I thought that too.
