Canon SL 1 package..
« on: November 06, 2013, 01:52:06 pm »
If you are looking for a very nice camera package I just bought one on line at Sam's Club. I questioned the $200.00 off because I have a Christmas Flyer stating $150.00 off.

I called them, put on hold then told it was a mistake and should be $150.00. The service Representative said if I hurried I could get it for $200.00 off.

Not sure how long it's going to take whether in the store or on line for them to change the price.

Boy, Black Friday is coming early this year. I returned the Canon SL1 and ordered the one "I" really wanted. Shopped around and the best deal was directly from Samsung. Had to wait a week but got one late last night.

$250.00 off, free ship and beat the $65.00 in tax.  :o Wanted the NX series a couple of years ago and never read a bad thing about them. Bought the NX 2000 with software and 64gb card.

Now, a good book on photography or maybe even a College Class on the subject.

Yes, I got White.  :P

The two things I bought full price off an electronics or camera shop one was an  AE1 camera with a nice piece of glass, and the other was a Samsung vhs camera. Both were well over $5oo and both took a crap. The cannon lasted years but was dead before a decade, replaced by a used tx body.

The Samsung took six months and needed hundreds to replaced the viewfinder and operability. Luckily it was the only thing I ever bought extended warrantee for.

Since then I figure most cameras do mostly the same thing, and a bazzilion extra pictils still just make a picture.

The only new  feature I would shop for is the panoramic shot.

Most the pictures I shot in the last five years were on an argus beanspout. Simple,  keychain sized easy to have one all the time and makes  [crappy] small enough files to post directly to the forum without uploading to a host or converting size.

Always wanted a nice camera. Have three others now but not near 20 megapixels. Almost bought one a couple of years ago. Decided to buy one. Now are the deals and it's a Christmas present to myself. I won't find a better deal on this model with two lenses, software and card. And did I say it's White?  :P

I want to get into photography so I might take some courses. Yes, I'll use it in the garage.  ;D

Yes, you said it's white!  Guess thats why you decided on that one.
I was into photography at one time, not so much any more...except for bikes!

The reviews I have read gave it high marks for the money. It's amazing (scary) what you could spend on a camera. I wanted the NX series but did not see the 2000 series model until last week.

Might want to check out this book. I have not read but know several folks who have and they thought it was worthwhile.

Nice buy on the NX. The mirror less format of cameras is really cool. Looks like you can get an adapter for Pentax lenses too! some very affordable good quality glass out there for ya!

I've owned a Cannon 7d since it came out and have been building a collection of decent lenses, it's another expensive addiction. But the creative control you get with "real" cameras and good lenses is super fun.

Sorry to disagree bob, but show me a film camera that can shoot 8 frames per second and track a moving target in auto focus, then shoot a video that you can upload to youtube?

I learned on film, still shoot my two pentax film cameras,  but there's no comparison to the versatility of digital.

I like my bikes old and cool, but my cameras nice and fast!
