I did the Iron Butt Saddle sore ride on my Vespa. 1000 miles in 24 hours or less. I did 1024 miles in 19 hours. All documented. I also once did about 1500 miles in 36 hours undocumented.

Very impressive!  8)

CB750-K6 76 with 836 + ported head and moderate cam with numbers as Webcam 41 is a GOOD touring bike! Most of the trips with 17-48t sprockets.
The bike looked as my avatar.

My holidays mostly when going back home:
1984. ~1600km trip (Russ Collins 836 forged pistons and my VM29 carbs)
Holiday to Pula (Istria peninsula) former Jugoslavia today Slovenia.
Started the way home from Greding Germany to Puttgarden 820 km,  1 hour ferry to Rödby, Denmark + 200km Denmark, ferry again and 570 km Sweden. Holiday with my Girlfriend living together before holiday. I was close to leave her in Jugoslavia (Bled) as I told her too >:( We missed tennisball sized hail on Autobahn outside Munich with 1 day. I day later home and we have got pain.

This trip very load. I started with a silent diffuser in my 4-1. Had to remove it on Autobahn to be able to drive faster than 130km/h. All way down to Jugoslavia and back with a completely open 4-1 :o :o My ears rang one week after coming home. My helmet with less insulating soft stuff than newer helmets.  Jebs Clay Regazzoni.

1985: appr 1850km on road Action Fours 836 since RC melted back home 1984, OEM carbs, VM29 to sleep for almost 3 decades, back on bike this october
Aurach, Kitzbühel (Austria)- 100 km west of Stockholm(Sweden)
+ ferries Travemünde (West Germany) - Gedser (Denmark) 3,5 hour if I remember correct,
Helsingor- Helsingborg (Sweden) 20 minutes.
Started in Austria late after a wet week with local Hexenfeuer and nice beer. After 10 minutes speeding ticket in Kitzbühel which was very cheap 100 schilling ($7US). Started again 12 something. 12-14 hours later in Travemünde, ferry, 200km Denmark ( ~3 hours), ferry to Sweden appr 570km home (~6 hours). I had to drive really fast to not fall asleep. 160-200km/h in Sweden were max was 70-110km/h.

1987: 1200km trip. Hard trip down in mostly full rain from my town in Sweden to  Göttingen Germany appr 1200km's. 2 guys checking in to a Gasthaus 09.30 in the morning sleeping all day.. the day after to Zell Am Zee for a week, Rimini Italy almost a week too. Way home started from the Bauer Keller hotel in Greding to home again as 1984.

1988. Went to Tarragona south of Barcelona via Andorra in the mountains. But slower day trips and broken chain just before Kassel, Germany (when gearing down  from 5:th to 3:rd). Friendly and very helpful German guys helped me.

Autobahn,  Italian, French highways nice to drive on, the speed difficult to keep down. Dreamt about 140km/h, but 160-200km/h most of the time. The CB750 did not let me down except for a broken point in France and chain in Germany (my fault).
Very much raining. Usually Ok south of the alps.

530 miles on this:

http://www.vinmoto.org/gallery/v/VinMoto-Garage/NYCVinMoto/GARAGES/nyc_kerry/album276/78_Fighter_right_side.jpg.html

the only difference is I had switched out my headlight for the benjie setup with the gauge in the back and at one point I had to stop and put one of the headlight ear bolts back in.

1055 miles from San Diego to just past Steamboat Springs, CO, on a '95 GL1500. Took just over 14 hours, with stops only for gas and 1 quick bite to eat. Doubt if I could do it again- back and knees just too balky at this stage of my advanced decrepitude. Farthest ever on a SOHC only about 450 miles- hats off to those who have done so much longer rides. These bikes not ideal to say the least for long distance touring, and I've ridden my 550 coast to coast twice.

I rode almost 560 miles of boring slab in about 9ish hours on my 73' 750 from Atlanta to the (beginning or end) of the Blue Ridege Parkway in Waynesboro, Va in May for our first annual Hooligan Run. We (well I didn't make the entire ride because of excessive fog and a tight time schedule) rode of the entire length of the BPR to Cherokee, NC. We will be repeating that ride next May and I WILL ride the entire parkway! ;)

Some of you blokes must be masochists, I think the furthest I've ridden a CB750 was from Melbourne to Bathurst and back in one weekend, that was around 1000 miles in 1983. That was on my first K1, which was bog stock, albeit with a first oversize rebore and a mild Andrews cam, but it made it there and back with no issues.

I did the same run 2 more times, once on a Yamaha XT500, (1985) and once on a Harley Sportster (1987) and had no issues with either bike, even after being clobbered by a car towing a caravan while on the Yamaha.

I rode my BMW K100RT from Melbourne to Brisbane then on to the Gold Coast (Canungra) for an Army promotion course in 1991, I went the shortest way up (1000 miles) in 2 days of luxurious comfort, then the longest way home, via Sydney, which added a couple of hundred miles, but I did that in a leisurely 3 day ride.

Since then I haven't done much. I flew over to Whyalla to collect the Triumph Rocket III in 2009. My brother had taken it to the Triumph dealer to prepare it for the ride back to Melbourne for me, and the dealer told me that he'd charged the battery, filled the tank up, topped up the oil and pumped up the tyres. I discovered that he was bullschmitting me when I stopped at a gas station to top up the tank, it was empty.

I rode it home over 2 days (800 miles) staying overnight at a motel in between. I took it to the Triumph dealer in Melbourne the following Saturday for it's first service (at 2 years old, it only had 20 miles on the odometer when I picked it up) and was berated by the service manager because the tyres had less than 20 psi in each. So much for Whyalla Triumph.............

Most of my regular weekend rides (I've been cursed with a company car for the last 11 years) are only 50-100 miles, and occasionally I ride one of my bikes to visit my parents 200 miles away, but that's about it. Nowadays I ride for enjoyment, not endurance. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Well Terry, things change as we progress through life. You have so many bikes to ride no wonder you don't pile up big numbers on one machine!

Hell man I only rode my K3 for 225 miles this summer, that's $2/mile considering regie & insurance. It wasn't an ideal summer for yours truly.  :(

Masochist you say? I damn near rode across this whole country @ 85mph with flat bars in 3.5 days...... no argument from me! Strong back, weak mind, yeah those were the days.  ;D

Around 1000 miles for me long way home after a bit of a disagreement with a young lady in France. Only stopped for fuel, a snack now and then and to cross the channel.

Did it on a CBR600FS.... I was ruined... as was the bike, engine was burning oil at a rate so traded it in the next day!

Ha ha, yeah mate, there must have been many more rides that I've forgotten over the last 36 years, but after a few hours on a bike over a weekend I'm more than happy to drive my company truck from Monday to Friday nowadays........ ;D

August 25th of this year drove from St. Paul MN to San Fransisco CA. First session was 1067 miles stopped on the side of the road slept for 5 hours. Got up and rode for 1129 miles all the way to San Fransisco. Bike is a 1977 CB750 F2. Bike got right around 35 miles per Gal, riding pretty hard and fast. Fastest I had the bike going with at least 80 extra pounds of gear and saddle bags made from plastic ammo cans was 118.0 mph using a Velpor as a speedo/dyno. Got to San Fransisco and met up with my youngest son on a 1978 CB750 K8 we then camped out at the Portolo Redwoods state park for 2 days. Never thought I could ride that far that fast on an old bike. Not because of the bike but because of me. I have to say I am impressed with the both of us. Love these old Bikes.

The farthest I ever rode in one day was about 700 miles, the last day of a 3600 mile ride from San Luis Obispo, CA to Colorado Springs, CO and back, in 1979. It was also the longest riding day ever, as I got home around sunrise.
The furthest I've ridden lately was 420 miles each way to Four-Corners this last Spring to fetch Godzilla.

The farthest I ever went was on a 1981 Honda CB750F from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Roseburg, Oregon.  Just over 1,500 miles in 31 hours.  Stopping only for gas, a quick bite of food and coffee (usually what I could find at the gas station).  Froze my ass off through the Mohave desert at 3am.  Tried to maintain 80mph as much as possible.  The Super Sport loved it.

Hey Terry, the CBX's were extremely rare here in 1979! The silver one was supposedly the very first one sold on the West coast. There was another Kawasaki twin, 2 or 3 DOHC 750s, a 350F, a couple of XS Yamahas, and an F3 in the group of co-workers I normally rode with back then.
Yes, my bike is Seeley # 21. ;D ;D

1000 miles in 20 hours on my Kaw 1000.
Was also young, horny and headed to see my girlfriend!
That'll do it. Was it worth It ;)

I see a trend ;D the year was around 1977 and I was headed to see my girlfriend at the time. and no it wasn't Marcia either ::) Not on a bike but in my 77 Trans-Am. From Greensboro, NC to Wilmington, NC. Was only 200 miles or so it doesn't qualify for any distance record, but was in the middle of winter and snow on the roads in Greensboro when I left. Drove in snow half the way their so couldn't make any time and slide off the road once. Closer I got to Wilmington the roads cleared up and I put the TA in the wind and next thing I know was getting pulled for doing 90 in a 65 zone. Thought I was going to jail but got out of it some how and got a ticket only. Cop knocked it down to 85 so i wouldn't lose my DL. Was it worth all the trouble, yeah it was ;)

Yes, my bike is Seeley # 21. ;D ;D

I'm envious Scott, not long after I bought my shiny new F0 in puke-yellow I discovered a shop in Richmond called Bol D'or (long before Honda brought out the CB900 Bol D'Or) which was an agent for Seeley. In the window was an immaculate Seeley CB750 that I wanted so bad I could taste it. Sadly it was too far out of reach money-wise, so it didn't happen. I almost bought a Rickman 750 years later, but it wasn't a patch on the Seeley........... ;D
