Is there a particular reason you want to go clear? If not, you can get the right size (5.5mm) from your Honda dealer.

I got like 10 feet of clear 5.5mm hose on ebay for $15.

I get the 7/32nd clear fuel hose at a local MotorCycle shop here in Omaha. Check with your local small engine repair shop. I bet they have some they would sell you.

My experience with clear vinyl tube is that it becomes yellow and hard in about a year, maybe two.  OEM hose seems to stay pliable a lot longer. 

If you end up searching local small engine shops, they will probably have tygon or something similar.  Better material than the clear vinyl, if you can stand to have green fuel lines.

I picked up 5 feet of 3/16" snowmobile fuel line at Canadian Tire last night for 3.99. They have other sizes too (including 7/32), but I wanted it nice and snug so as not have to deal with clamps.

3/16" --> 4.8mm

I use 3/16 now. It just sucks trying to get it over fuel filters and petcocks. Even with heating and oiling, it's an endeavor. I'd rather go for 7/32, or 5.5. I believe that you still don't need to use clamps with these sizes.

Thanks for the feedback...I'll stay away from vinyl and keep looking. Seems like trying some local machine shops may be a good idea.

I've had 1/4" leak like a stuck pig on my '78 at the carb inlet...even with a clamp. I have to wiggle it just right so it doesn't leak.

I believe I used 3/8" for the longest time. Very snug fit, no clamps needed. A pain to get off the petcock though, especially since I was always taking the tank off.

just use the proper rated black stuff,most off that clear rubbish always gives trouble,goes hard then thats why it wont seal on the barbs.
