It bubbles when it cures it. I'm fairly certain it's oven cure.

I forgot what distributor he's using, but it happens with every batch and he's even been on the phone with them during the entire process.

Sounds like an issue with his prep process.
You better read all you can about those O2 sensors!
Lots to know. There are different types.
Also they are only a rough estimate. Fine tuning is still plugs etc.,.

I disagree, plug check only tells you the mixture at WOT. With a computer program the O2 sensor will read and accurately adjust A/F ratio through the whole rpm range.

If you put the Oz sensor on a CB750 it won't adjust anything.
If the O2 sensor is on a modern fuel injected bike It can be programed and adjusted.

actually, once again Lucky has failed to understand what anyone is talking about.  No one here really expects the o2 sensor to do the adjusting "for" them...they just need qualitative info on how and what to adjust.  Maybe Lucky is so knowledgeable on carb tuning, that he needs no more info.
If it works good, it looks good...

If you read what he responded to he got it.. But he was off on the rest of the thread.

Alright guys, let's get back on topic, doesn't matter who was wrong or not.

My friend with the motogpwerks exhaust showed me a good place to weld the bung, but I'll try to get my engine in the frame and mock it up myself. Unless someone is willing to contribute some pictures so I can see?

I would definately mock it up before drilling.

If I remember correctly, the sniffer should be within 30" of the port, which is stretching it on a MAC if you want it in the collector.

If you are willing to settle for one cylinder reading, mine tucked in nicely between the points and clutch covers. (Or maybe the Carpy collector starts forward enough?)....if so, that would be the best location IMHO

The collector on the yoshi replica pipes is WAY more forward than the mac.

I run an innovate wideband permanently mounted.

I welded the bung in the collector, on the left hand side of the bike, at 270 degrees...there were zero options for getting it to 30 degrees. Helped immeasurably with the tuning process on the RS34's. If you plan on pulling you exhaust off a lot, make sure the connector for the sensor is easily accessible. Also, the readings will be way lean on initial startup...don't go tossing jets at it right off the bat.

Seth, what exhaust are you using, yoshi replica? Care to take a pic of the sensor and bung?

I'm using the Carpy exhaust on a 750. Exhaust is off at the moment, for a rebuild. The bung is standard, and it's placed just aft of the side stand. I'll shoot photos of the exhaust, but it isn't going back on anytime soon.

Dave: No. Just stock carbs. But it's a very heavily modified engine, similar to a road race bike, that Mark says will be very difficult to tune.

I have the TrailTech Vapor digitial dash, could that be used with a data logger?
This is what I use...it is a data logger as well.http://www.daytona-sensors.com/WEGO3.html
