This Winter's Project Cache
« on: October 23, 2013, 10:37:03 AM »
Well guys, getting ready to start on this 1975 cb750f.
PO rode it home and let it sit.
He did manage to put on a cb550 wiring harness because the other was "hacked".  ???

From what I can see beyond the obvious maintenance and comestic issues the engine is super clean.
Oddly clean...
Looks like one of the bolts in the valve cover is busted straight out and holding oil in via permatex gasket maker.  :o

Well it came with alot of extra parts including another correct wiring harness. So I cant complain to much.

Looking for a seat cover, drilled rotors, dual disc up front, sidecovers if anyone might have some laying around???

As she sits for the moment.

Had some time to check out the carbs and see whats going on there.
Why is there always free cocaine in a bowl.  ::)
So after much effort and the destruction of two float pins this was the trash pile.
Now to get some wire down in there to clean out the barnicale surface that fuel additives left me.  >:(
At least the the other bodies and bits cleaned up effortlessly in the ultra sonic cleaner.

Replacement list thus far;
Two float pins
One float
2 float needles
four gaskets
bigger mains and slows.

Ive never tuned one of these with uni-filters any suggestions on where to start with the jets?

I should rename this "This Winter's Project Cache" or something clever.

Picked up this 76 cb550, runs on 1 and 2, no compression on 2 or 3 and no title.  :-\
Last night I picked up another 78 cb750f2, runs, no title...  ::)
Converting this 78 cb750f2 back to the way it should be, ran when parked but titled.
