'Nother Name That Hot Cam Game...Nope, It's Just a Sandcast Cam!
« on: November 10, 2013, 05:46:39 AM »
Pulled a hot cam out of my sandcast motor...has more than .370 lift per Hondaman's book, because a fully backed out tapped screw still wouldn't free up a few of the rockers on disassembly.

Anybody seen a cam with number 0, or O marking on the end?

You just made my day! ;D ;D  It's the cam that came out of motor 371, but I thought for sure it wasn't stock, because that motor had a much later head installed, and .50 pistons.  That is great news.  It's still in good shape, right?  What gave it away as the sandy cam?

Thanks Bill!!

Ha!  It'll have some kick to it Jerry!  No wonder they blew so many chains (not on mine though ;D ;D ) especially with 16-tooth sprockets.

Bill, get yer calipers out and measure the lobe heights. Then I could compare to my K0 Super Sport original cam which ran like a scalded ass monkey too!

Bill, BTW my original owner Yosh Daytona cam has "B" stamped on it vs your "A".

I rode my sandcast for the first time yesterday, it really wants to run. Now I know why.
The original front tire kept me from enjoying it too much. L0L.

Pulled a hot cam out of my sandcast motor...has more than .370 lift per Hondaman's book, because a fully backed out tapped screw still wouldn't free up a few of the rockers on disassembly.

Anybody seen a cam with number 0, or O marking on the end?

Is it just a photo/light issue, or is that journal severely worn?
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
