Flitz
« on: November 10, 2013, 07:37:24 am »
I came away from Barber's this year with only two magazine subscriptions and a tube of this stuff.  I saw a guy at the swap meet selling it and he sold me on it after he showed me some blue'd pipes from a header he did.  Here's some of my work with it.  I got about as far as I could yesterday, I have two bad shoulders and I slept on my neck wrong.

I also worked over an acid spot on my exhaust.  It looks completely gone but it isn't.  It's faded really well though.  I like the stuff..

I use Flitz pretty much exclusively for metal polishing and think it's fantastic! I've never seen it in a tube, only in a squeeze bottle. Is it a yellow/green color? I have some 550 pipes that are blued - I'll have to give it a try.  :D

The stuff I have is real light blue in color.  It's in a tooth paste looking tube.  Here's a small spot on my 350 exhaust.  My arms don't hold up well working on it though.

I have a bad shoulder also. If you have a drill that will run at low speed you can buff it with Flitz also.

I have used it on brass and gold plated fixtures for years. Also used it on my rifle brass for hunting, it gives the brass good corrosion protection in wet weather hunting.

Love the stuff, through not cheap.

Is it available over the counter any place? A friend had some that I used, but he got his by mail order. Good stuff, but yeah, pricey.

I use the liquid in the squeeze bottle - you can find it at most good auto parts stores, or you might try Home Depot...

I'll have to give the paste a try. Really good stuff.

I find it at fireplace stores, and at gun stores and gun ranges.

I've used Flitz, and it work pretty well.  But, I like Semichrome polish better.  At least, it works a bit better for me.

Maas works well and  has a protective coating built in which helps reextends time between touch up intervals to 2-3 times a year for me.
