« on: November 07, 2013, 02:56:58 pm »
Hi,

Could somebody direct me to the OEM cb750 color charts? I know I've seen it here before but can't seem to locate it. Thanks.
What am I doing and why am I doing it? Those are excellent questions.

Do you mean spooky Tom CB 750 colors. It seems to have disappeared from the Internet

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Interesting, have not seen that. Unfortunately, still no codes for some of the paint colors.

Thanks. It confirmed what I suspected… that list is useless :)

I'm trying to figure out the color of my 77 CB750k. i always remember that list being a little limited. That can't be all the factory colors.

Or do a scratch test on your side covers or tank if they are original.
If your PO was totally lazy like mine he just took flat black right over the old paint.

I do not see my Candy Bacchus Olive, the fastest color they made on that chart.

candy bacchus olive isn't a single color. It is a candy blue laid over a candy gold, laid over silver flake. That's why it is impossible to match. I have a stock paint set and there is a where mark where the seat touched it and you can see all the paint layers. It's pretty fantastic. That's why the green glows in the sunlight.

FWIW I have found the closest match I can readily get my hands on is a 90's jeep color called Moss green pearlcoat (my jeep is actually painted this color). It is a little lighter but the tone is right and the multicolored pearl gives it a similar luster/glow.

Pics or it didn't happen.
One of these days I would like to reverse what that POS PO did to my bike and get it back to that fuggin' sweet candy bacchus olive.

Maybe you should learn some manners and ask nicely.

Here ate two shots, one in shadow and one in direct light. The mark is small so it is hard to photograph. You can see the green fade to gold fade to silver flake fade to rust.

If you read the lubritech chart you see that the listing is for gold topcoat, blue base coat but in my experience the is the reverse of what actually happened. Otherwise there would be a blue edge where the paint wore away.

www.vmrpaints.com   Don't know if that'll help you or not, but looks
professional if you decide to go that route. I do not speak from experience, but am curious. Vintage Honda colors and Bacchus Olive is listed.
