Ohhhhhhhh canada eh? Guess whos back.....again...
« on: November 10, 2013, 06:04:36 PM »
Sup guys? Its been awhile again...I really need to start hanging out here more. But as we all know life happens.....The past year has been up and down for me ranging from mom passing away last fall to getting a newer truck later that fall followed by the double whammy of meeting the current gf and the company i worked for for nearly 7 years going under....Sometimes life just gets overwhelming and one needs to take a step back and see what draws thier interest the most at the time. In my case it was diving head first into trucks again for the first time in years. Now im just starting to get back into bikes with the Yamaha DT250C and the Interceptor. I may have a lead on a '78 Yamaha DT400E as well...Anyways enough rambling....heres a couple pics as to what i have been up to....

First a pic of the new to me SUV and the gf.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I bought the truck back in november of last year. It is a '08 Chevy Trailblazer LS i have made a few changes to it since buying it...

Debadged the hatch
Plastidipped the grille bar
Resonator delete
Higher flowing muffler.

I met Whitney (the girl in the pic) in may of this year and next week marks 6 months that we have been together. It has been an interesting journey with her to say the least.

I will update this thread a lil more in a bit.

Welcome back DR.
I've missed seeing your avatar.
Well, and reading your posts of course. LOL.
Now cut to the chase and elaborate on that last comment regarding the GF.

Thanks Jimmy...ok...cutting to the chase lol....Well i met Whitney via a dating site a few weeks before #$%*e hit the fan with the old company and was mostly exchanging texts back and forth with her while i was out on the road doing surveillance work. During one of my weeks off from that we met in person and pretty much hit it off right then and there...we went for coffee then went for a walk in the local park. Our first actual date was similar with the exception of going to one of the local bars after the walk then sitting and talking for hours before i drove her home. At that point she lived 40 miles out of town so it was a long night that night going out to her dads place then coming home. For the next few months i repeated this commute when possible and she got rides into town from friends when she could as well. Then around July when i went away for a camp job for 3 weeks her grandparents got her a car which made it a lot easier for her to get into town to see me. And around this same time she got a job in town which gave her another reason to come to the city. The past few months have been a lot of exploring one another and getting used to each other. She likes a lot of the same things i do such as off roading, dirtbikes and motorcycles. So eventually she will prob end up with a dual sport of her own. More recently she moved into the city into a room at a friends place so she can see me more often. We are taking things slow as of this time and just enjoying being together. However i could very easily see asking her to be my wife within the next couple years.

Between the time I parked the tb due to a mishap in winter and getting the new car I was driving an S10 blazer...during this time frame another major event occurred....i Proposed to Whitney in November and....well.....she said Yes!

Whit has a Gio dirtbike that I got for her over the winter for her to learn on. Most likely later this year we may be buying a pair of new Yamaha TTRs...a 230 for me and a 110 or 125 for her.

So rather then start a new random thread...figured i would roll the dice and hope you guys didn't get urked by me updating this old one. Life has its little twists and turns. A lot has changed since i last checked in. That new car didn't work out...long story on that one not worth repeating in polite company....Ended up back in the S10 Blazer for a bit till it finally died. During that time i was also driving an '00 Chevy Astro that got sideswiped last year a couple months after my last post. Replaced it with an '02 Honda Odyssey....Didn't think that van was gonna be around long but yet here i am over a year later still running it along side a '92 Ford Ranger XLT and a '84 Chevy C10. Ended up moving into a different place back in June which was a month before another major change in my life..The girl i mentioned earlier in this thread going from girlfriend, to fiancee...to Wife as of July 23rd this year. Still getting over saying the wife part of things but there you have it...

Glad to hear things are working out for you.
Do you have far to go to hit the dirt roads/trails?

Fortunately no there are a few trails near the city that we can access with the dual sports, Plus my buddy has a lot of trails near his place that we can take our ATVs and Dirt bikes on.

That it is...and it has been quite the adventure so far!...Year or so from now...i could be expecting another major change in my life...that is going from where i am now to expecting to be a father...that stage..i approach with caution as of this point anyway..lol

Hey, DR, it's good that you are being cautious regarding the prospect of becoming a father.  Bear in mind that, unlike bikes and
cars, children do NOT come with an owners manual!  ;) ;D

Thanks Bill! The black bike in one of the pics there is the Harley 500 Street...they also make a 750 version of it as well..looks pretty much the same...one could be a dick i suppose and put the 500 decals on the 750 to do a bit of hustling lol
