CB750A starting issues
« on: April 22, 2005, 02:10:49 PM »
To set the timing on a 750 , is it the same as the 550? ,  set the~ T F 1.4 mark on the crank, line up the notch in the cam with the head. then static time with a test light, on the points 1.4 then rotate the crank to the 2.3 mark .

I have just redone the to end on my 77 CB750A , now it will start, it has fuell, spark but will not attempt to start, just cranks & cranks

Got spoiled when I rebuilt the 75 CB550F not issues at all,..cranked over 2-3 times bam started right up...not so with this beast of a 750.

Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions,

Cheers

Did you try drying off the spark plugs?  A lot of times if it doesn't start after the first few attempts, the plugs will get soaked with gas and won't fire under pressure.  Also, you said you have fuel and spark, but did you check the compression?
