I've been taking grips off motorcycles that have been held on with hair spray with a squirt of WD and a thin screw driver for 40 years,  they slide right off and if a screw driver is going to mar the surface you'd better start buying better bars. Clean them up with contact cleaner and reinstall. I have never had a problem. People have different ways of doing things, doesn't make them wrong.

The cheapest aerosol hairspray you can find is after extensive testing the absolute best for my potato cannon . Distance and acurracy are both improved and it will break a windsheild on an electra glide head on at about 40 yards !!
