Fast blinkers fixed them.
« on: October 19, 2013, 12:12:12 PM »
Hello, I changed the rear blinkers on my BMW . The new blinkers are less wattage, not LED. The blinkers now blink faster. What's the best way to slow them down?

Thanks, Bob

You gotta put the resistance back in to the circuit. You could do a ghetto quick and dirty by adding a light bulb inline, I have seen some people do that with LED's, seems silly to me but hey it works. Solder resistors inline somewhere convenient or change the bulb back to what it was or get an electronic flasher like tridon ep35(?) or something like that

You can buy a Heavy Duty flasher!! These are made for systems that run trailers with lots of outside lights on them. The resistance is greater so it should work.

Spent all day yesterday, ( had surgery ) looking for a bulb with 1156 base, that had more than 10 Watts. There's not enough room for the regular size bulb for 1156. I was able to find a 14.5 watt bulb in the smaller size. At the very least, I hoping that this will slow down the blinkers to a usable rate. I only found one company that carries LED's with built in resistors. They fit 1156 & 1157 size. So no inline resistors, and all that. The cost is about $45.
