Are you planning on moving the foot pegs, shifter and brake? It would look kind of funny (and uncomfortable) to be leaning back like that, but with your legs right beneath you. Well, I don't know about the uncomfortable part, but it would definately be different.

The handlebars remind me of a Texas Longhorn...

Edit: Now that I think of it, the handlebars/riding position wouldn't necessarily be uncomfortable.

With that riding position I think you'd want more of a rise and less of a pull back in the hadlebars.

It has a very comfortable riding position. Allthough I would like to move the controls forward.

I need to see some more bar options before I make a final decision.  I put on a set of goldwing bars and they looked wierd and ape hangers are out of the question.  Keep in mind this is for a chubby short guy in his mid sixties, he cant handle leaning forward for long.

Well, he probably won't want to bruise his sides every time he turns either. Those bars are wild. They look like they're fome something from the turn of the (last) century.   My only concern is, will he be able to swing his leg over the seat?  Otherwise, I have no problem.  I'm mostly a Run What Ya Brung kind of guy.  I used to be called a frustrated Harley rider back in the '70s- /2 Beemer with Cobra seat and handlebar streamers.

My thoughts, its your bike...do what you like.
Ride what you own...own what you ride.

My only real concerns deal with comfort and riding position, not for yourself but for your dad, if he is the intended rider. It looks like the riders legs would be "crunched up" and cramped.

The extra seat thickness with the shown handle bars may make manuveering the bike difficult.
Also if he is short, the extra seat thickness make him less stable if the bike is stopped on an unlevel area, or start to tip over.

just some thoughts,
Lee

Years ago out in Wyoming,I worked at a shop where we took in an older Toyota Landcruiser that was runnin' a Chevy 350 drivetrain. It had a hand painted spare tire cover on the back hatch that read "CHEV-OTA" . I looked at that and said well, at least he didn't call it a "TOYO-LET" !!!!

Hey, hondachopproject, That looks to be a pretty cool-looking ride (in your avatar). The only thing I would add is foreward controlls.
Do you have any closer pics of your bike?

Hey Pinhead,
Good to hear from you again.
Thanks for the complement. That picture is actually a very old picture. At the time I had a comstar rim, I went back to stock spoke rim. Also I have since went to longer 750 tubes, but may need to go a bit longer.  But need an idea for solo seat...so I was checking out this thread.
When I did this test run, I didn't even have back brakes, if you notice how low my toe is riding on the brake lever. Forward controls are in the plans for later.
The bike is still very much in the "fabricating" stage.
I had stopped for a while because of an accident and lost enthusiasm with the project, but have gained new interest.
as far as close up check out some of the "early" pics
