The general consensus last season was they butchered that K0 just to generate buzz for the show.

I didn't care for them chopping up the Guzzi California this season.

Imho, this whole cafe bike craze is about trying to recreate bikes and a lifestyle based on a romantic vision of an era that never really existed in the way its portrayed.

Then again it may just be that I'm old, cynical, and bitter.

I think this year's version is an improvement over the fist couple years. The one hour format with bikes completed during the show is far better than stretching it iver 2 episodes.

That 550 they mad into the Kawasaki/Honda hybrid wasn't in very good shape. It was an excellent candidate for a cafe.

A: I like cafe' bikes when they are well built. I don't like when they have flat bars and a plywood seat and that's it.

B: When cutting up an old bike or car I always prefer if its done to one that is in bad shape or "non desireable". An example of non desireable would be the Ford Torino that was done over on Barry White's TV show. It was a very nice/original 70 Torino but it was a factory 6 cylinder car. A great candidate for a resto mod. A bad example of this would be almost anything that Boyd Connington ever touched. He had a talented crew but they cut up some extremely nice all original cars.

C: The format for Cafe' race is MUCH better this year. It was stupid how they had it last year. A bike needs to be started and finished in one episode. Every now and then you can have a two parter.

D: "Whats in the barn" is awesome. I've seen this guy around over the years and he is a massive wealth of knowledge for bikes that are very old. I could spend forever and a day at his shop and never get bored.

E: I wish they would bring back Philly Throttle. I like that snagle toothed SOB that runs that shop. A real bike guy that struggles between motorcycle addiction and keeping the lights on. No flash and glamour there. Just dirt, rust and wrenches.

Since this was the first year of What's In The Barn they may have shot a small number of episodes and so is done until next season.

I don't think Philly Throttle does enough business to warrant a weekly show and the Barn was meant to be a short series. It's not like cool barn finds happen multiple times a week to the same guy. CafeRacerTv episodes are 1-3 years old before they ever air.

While I appreciate what Dale Walkser is doing for vintage motorcycles, that show is the most made up piece of #$%* on TV. If you're ever down in Maggie Valley NC. stop at his museum "Wheels Through Time", you won't regret it. He used to be the local H-D dealer down here in Mt. Vernon, IL. until he sold his dealership and moved down there to open his museum.

None of the reality TV shows are based on one bit of actual reality. But hey, The SOA finale last night was pretty awesome.

If you've never seen the show, there are some good stories. Check out this episode from a couple weeks ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcLGtYm-Dz0. The Royal Enfield story is pretty cool. Leon pitted with us at Summit Point last year when the Badger raced there and he's the real deal, function over form, as it should be.

The problem with the show is that for every good story, there are several typical scripted douchebag hipster builds that are more about "lifestyle" than building a proper bike. The story about the KTM in this episode is a perfect example.

The show is better than the first season, it still suffers from too little to say for the time on screen so they tell you four times what they are going to show you, like they are teaching the "challenged" or what ever PC term you like.

Chopping up the 500 to stuff in the twin Kawasaki motor was just a stunt like the K0 chop job.

We should thank them for every old bike the chop, makes ours more valuable.
