The bike is really lookin' good, Tige.  All anyone has to do to appreciate all you've done to this point is to revisit the first page of this thread.  An amazing transformation taking place here...

I hope I don't disappoint any of you,but this will not be a restore.  ;). It will resemble a stock appearance but won't be stock.  I will be adding a stainless 4-1 pipe, modern hand controls and Renthal bars for sure.  I am going for a look that will pay respect to the K1 but with some modern touches to fit my needs and vision.

Since my 915 (77 cb750 f2) build strayed fairly far from stock and took on a life of its own I wanted this build to be a nice blend of both but  "closer" to stock.  More to come.

Today after work I installed the rebuilt swingarm, forks and added the fork ears.  Something about adding a bit of color that makes me feel like a major milestone was accomplished.  I am so happy I went with the Candy gold.

Wow, Tige!  That gold really pops.  The bike is looking better by the day!

Tige, I don't see the 'D' washers in your top bridge fork clamps... [http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750k1-four-usa_model14354/partslist/F03.html#results   #10 in this image] I'd hate to see another broken top bridge.

Thanks for looking out, but you can be sure they are in there.  No broken top bridge here. ;)

Thanks Ed.  I am able to move at a bit faster pace since this isn't a complete restore.  Powdercoating bits rather than clean and polish really speeds things up.

I went with Hagons for this build. My experience with Hagons has been great and really think they maintain the vintage look.

Thanks Kap, will do!

One of the things I try to stick by when building bikes is, "do it right the first time".  This is something I learned during my 915 build, because I cut corners at first and just went back and changed it out at a later date.  I didn't follow my advice on this build and tried to cut corners on a replica rear fender from DSS...  Quality it ok but not good enough for my liking, unfortunately.  Needless to say I bit the bullet and ordered a NOS rear fender to match the NOS front fender I already have, damn they are expensive!

Not too much to update, spent most of the day modifying the 71 NOS front fender to fit the 73 fork legs I am using.  Not fun but I came up with a good solution that will work well.  I finished rebuilding the gauges and installed them.

Great pictures. I'm here until tomorrow afternoon.

This morning, I visited Twinline Motorcycles and got to meet Tower and Doctor D - both really nice guys. David's Super Sport looks amazing- even better in person. The paint has much more depth than the photos. Tower showed me The Thorn and his CB350 he is taking to the One Show next week in PDX. I can't believe how light and skinny The Thorn is - and the tank is autographed by the Bostrom brothers.  Awesome morning!! Many thanks to David and Tower.

Got some work done in the shop today.  Got the carbs and airbox installed, hand controls including the Venhil quick twist throttle.  If you have not tried this throttle, do.  I have installed this system on all my builds and love it.

The more I build and work on this 71, the more I fall in love with it!

Time for the Super Bowl...  Go Seahawks!
