Yes Larry, this will be my 4th 750 engine build.  I really enjoy  breathing new life into these bikes.

Should be able to ship you my tins sometime next week so you can work your magic.  I know we talked about the look I am going for but I will email you this weekend for you shipping address and estimate. $$.   ;D
After your first two, you should be able to tear an engine down in your sleep at this point, eh, tweakin?   ;D   Anxious to see the progress.

Tweakin, does the F1 have the same long frame rails as the F2, or is the F1 more a kin to the 76 K?  E.G., will the AirTeck long chassis tail fit on a F1 frame?

Thanks!

Not much to show but I got a ton done this weekend.   The 71 and 73 are all torn down and in bins.  One bin for satin black powder, another for silver powder, and two other bins with engine parts and take offs.

Was also able to degrease the engine cases, hubs and other bits.  I am off this week so I will be spending a bit of time with the media blaster getting pieces ready for the powdercoater.

71 frame

I also found some more evidence this is a JDM 71.  Here are a few pics of the speedo cable coupler that is wired into the wire harness to trigger the red "over speed" light in the unicorn tree.  Experts, please correct me if I am mistaken. Too bad this thing was in such rough shape, but I will make sure it gets a second life.

I have also ordered a 836 engine kit, with all new bearings, HD studs, chains, and kibblewhite valves to freshen up the tired engine.

Great progress!  This is the one time in motorcycles I'm glad to be in your rear view mirrors and watching your build from behind.   Just don't go over the horizon where I can't see you!  No doubt this thread will be a tutorial for me.  Thank you for posting.

Still waiting for all my parts to arrive before I get everything to you Larry.  Yes, when I get a bike I try to take it slow but just can't help myself.

Yes it is a F model, but has a big bore and RS34 carbs.  Cuts the #$%* out of the grass. :o

"Yes it is a F model, but has a big bore and RS34 carbs.  Cuts the #$%* out of the grass".

Son of a #$%*! (not you) I gotta at least figure out how to crank up the R's so it quits cutting with low rpm torque and use some high rpm HP. Wonder if Megacycle has a MegaMower division?

Another day of a bunch of work done, but not too much to show for it. ::)  I got the cases, head and cylinders all media blasted for the first time today.  They will then be degreased, scrubbed and media blasted again.  Then soaked in a hot detergent tube and scrubbed again to clean out all the oil galleys etc.  Also checked specs on the crank and cleaned it and the rods up.  Have new bearings and F2 crank nuts / bolts on the way.

After first blast before, clean --> blast --> clean again --> soak

Some one had a bit of fun inside the cases.  Could see the near complete alphabet once I cleaned through the 40 years of grease.

Also started on the gauges.  Took them apart cleaned, painted and got them ready for the restore kit from member CB750faces.com (Lecram), this is a super nice kit!

I decided to go with the 73 forks rather than the 71 fro this build because they were in much better condition.  They are all torn down and ready for some upgrades.

I wonder if it had that many recalls or in the case services that they would designate it with that much alphabet?

A case monkey with a stamp set got turned loose on your turd...
