This build is coming along nicely, with no major issues yet.  This evening I was able to get the engine back mated with the frame.

Now the fun begins, once the engine is installed the builds really start to move along.  This one should be completed in the next couple months and ready for spring riding.

Looking good!

Another survivor resurrected and put back to the road in better than factory condition. Bike looks beautiful and understated in its execution, Tweakin. You're a talented dude!

My goal is to go with something that looks period correct but not nearly as bulky as stock.  I have a few options I am leaning toward, but it will more than likely be trial and error once I get the bike built and can see it all together.

Looks fantastic.  Your restoration skills are exceptional.  I particularly like your decision to keep it more or less stock with full fenders and period correct blinkers.  It's a timeless look that doesn't go in and out with the flavor of the month fads.

Tweak - I gotta agree with Dave, stock is my personal passion. With so many out there hacking and whacking these things into bar bikes, cafe racers, etc., it's getting more rare to see these in their original, yet timeless form. But that's just my opinion - that and two bucks gets you a cawfee at your local DD... Looks like you and I are close to the same point in our respective rebuilds. Also hoping to have my current project done by early May. Looking forward to drafting one of several fellow riders to ride this one beside me and the Family Heirloom and go tooling around to a few bike shows and area haunts - including Americade in June. It's so rare to see a single '71 CB750 - how cool will it be to see two of them together?!?! Keep up the great work!

The bike is really lookin' good, Tige.  All anyone has to do to appreciate all you've done to this point is to revisit the first page of this thread.  An amazing transformation taking place here...

I hope I don't disappoint any of you,but this will not be a restore.  ;). It will resemble a stock appearance but won't be stock.  I will be adding a stainless 4-1 pipe, modern hand controls and Renthal bars for sure.  I am going for a look that will pay respect to the K1 but with some modern touches to fit my needs and vision.

Since my 915 (77 cb750 f2) build strayed fairly far from stock and took on a life of its own I wanted this build to be a nice blend of both but  "closer" to stock.  More to come.

Today after work I installed the rebuilt swingarm, forks and added the fork ears.  Something about adding a bit of color that makes me feel like a major milestone was accomplished.  I am so happy I went with the Candy gold.

Tige, I don't see the 'D' washers in your top bridge fork clamps... [http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750k1-four-usa_model14354/partslist/F03.html#results   #10 in this image] I'd hate to see another broken top bridge.

Thanks for looking out, but you can be sure they are in there.  No broken top bridge here. ;)

Thanks Ed.  I am able to move at a bit faster pace since this isn't a complete restore.  Powdercoating bits rather than clean and polish really speeds things up.

I went with Hagons for this build. My experience with Hagons has been great and really think they maintain the vintage look.

Thanks Kap, will do!

One of the things I try to stick by when building bikes is, "do it right the first time".  This is something I learned during my 915 build, because I cut corners at first and just went back and changed it out at a later date.  I didn't follow my advice on this build and tried to cut corners on a replica rear fender from DSS...  Quality it ok but not good enough for my liking, unfortunately.  Needless to say I bit the bullet and ordered a NOS rear fender to match the NOS front fender I already have, damn they are expensive!
