Love this build! May I ask why you used hose clamps on the intake boots? Temporary?

Tige....what a game haha. On those hose clamps...looks like similar ones that Elan offers here. I've switched all of mine over because they clamp tighter. My oem honda ones didn't clamp for crap. I could pull the boots off the head with them clamped. Not sure if it makes a sealing difference but it makes me feel better. Just my two cents. Looks killer though!

Thanks, That game was an epic beat down of the Broncos.  The Seahawks vs. 49ers, NFC championship game,  was the real Super Bowl.  I said it then, who ever wins the NFC championship would thump the Broncos.

Actually, I usually use stainless steel hose clamps from Mcmaster Carr, they work really well and only $15 for a pack of ten.

Just caught up reading the build. Very nice work, its clear that after so many builds before you know what needs to be done and how and/or where to get it. I am only jealous because I am short on time, money and not nearly enough space to do things. Keep it up.

I really need to stop checking in on your builds, every time I do I end up spending money!  Just supported the local economy in the UK, can't wait for my new Venhill 888 to get here!

Geez Louise, dynamite as always! I've read all of your builds, as well as Branden's, Hednut's, (and many others)... you guys are crazy good! If I can come up with a finished product half as good as you fellas I'll be beside myself. What did you use to reseal your gauges? Or is that just a re-crimp job done with Tweakin type precision...?

Ha ha, I think you will really like the 888, I got brandEn hooked on them.  The throttle response is great and it's a well made bit.

Thanks for checking out my build.  I got the gauge kit from cb750faces.com (forum member).  I made a circular jig to hold the gauges upside down so I could lightly tap the new ring closed.  I looked for pics but couldn't find any since I am traveling for business.

Got some work done in the shop today.  Got the carbs and airbox installed, hand controls including the Venhil quick twist throttle.  If you have not tried this throttle, do.  I have installed this system on all my builds and love it.

The more I build and work on this 71, the more I fall in love with it!

Time for the Super Bowl...  Go Seahawks!

You are building a brand new bike from scratch! This looks amazing.

How long are you in town for?  Daughters soccer today and Superbowl "party" all day tomorrow...  Go Seahawks!  Then I am in CT on business the following week.

I have a roller.

Oh hell yes.
FYI. I'm in Seattle. Heading over to Twinline later this morning.

Still in CT or did you make it for the Hawks'  victory parade?   ;D

I think I picked one of the best weekends to visit Seattle.  Aside from the brisk temperature, the City was so full of Seahawks fever.  12th Man flags everywhere and business storefronts were dressed up in the team colors.  Even the homeless people in downtown were randomly shouting, "Go Hawks!"

My best friend down here in SoCal has been rooting for the Hawks since he was born in Seattle.  He went to a Super Bowl party dominated by Broncos fans talking smack.  Apparently, the room became pretty silent pretty fast.

They run a pretty tight ship.  I think you will like the throttle...  Did you also get the universal cable kit, so you can build new cables?

Yeah, that is exactly what I got.  The long throttle pull has always bugged me.  Nothing worse than having to reset your grip while trying to reach the ton!

Some more shop time down.  I got the dual discs al set up and braided lines ran, what a pita to get the right side caliper set up through the spokes.  Next time I will set this up prior to lacing the wheel.  New taillight on the NOS rear fender, I wanted something that was not too far from stock but much smaller.  RickyRacers seat is on and got started on the wiring, including led bulbs and load equalizers for all light with the exception of the headlight.  Starting to shape nicely keeping with my vision of a slightly modified stock look.
