i feel the same way, mine took 6 months of hard work. and a good few to save up before i jumped into it I would like to do a resto for my next build, im getting a xt500 next.

I am running CRG bar end mirrors.  I have run CRGs on multiple bikes and could not be happier.  I have tried less expensive options but always go back to them.

You bet.  If you decide to go with the CRG's, decide on the ones you want then shop around.  I found my last set including adapters on Amazon for a decent price.

When you did your dual disc conversion did you modify/remove material from the right fork lower caliper mount?

I did not B, but still might revisit this.  Everything lined up nicely but I might modify the lower mount to gain a bit more clearance between the caliper and spokes.

There is a slight problem with doing that; it causes the brake pads to contact the rotor at an angle.  To address this issue, I have modified the pads with a 36 grit sanding block to match the new angle. 
They will eventually wear in by themselves but it takes a while and may cause the outer pad to stick in the caliper and WILL cause the brake lever to feel spongy for a while.

1 step forward and 2 steps back.  

Get the carbs pretty much sorted and bike running excellent only to find the F'n JDM unicorn triple tree is cracked!!!  I started weeping when I saw this, but then grabbed a fresh IPA to help ease the pain.  Yes, I did have the correct D - washers installed and No, I did not use supper strength when torquing down the pinch bolts...  Such a major downer!

Good thing is our friends at Motorcycle Yamiya had one more aluminum re-pop in stock.  No more worries about the fragile unobtanium top tree.  Plan is to have the old tree welded up and use it in a small art project.

Yes Stev-o, sucks.  Correct, no need for the D washers on the new triple since its aluminum.
