Author Topic: CB 750 K1 GT New Pics with a new look (Read 124842 times)

Swapped out the trans for a race cut trans, changed all engine covers to NOS/ polished and added a NOS K1 seat and tank trim. The 836 really purrs with the c5 ignition.

The GT is slowly moving to a more stock look and I have always loved 4-4 pipes so I bit the bullet and picked up a set of the re-pop 341's. I really love the sound of the Yoshi knock off 4-1 but something about the original 4-4 look keeps drawing me in. I went with the cmsnl version of 341's and couldn't be happier with the quality and finish. The don't have the smooth flowing stock head pipe bends, but they will do. Waiting on a bunch of NOS bits and some hangers to get them mounted.

Those repop pipes are damn pretty. They sound great too (at least from what I've heard on other builds).

Curious as to why the 341s Tige? 300s sound and perform better, especially on big bores IINM. I totally agree about the stock 4-4 look on these bikes, the Dunstall 4-2 are a distant second for me because there is still some symmetry. Never really liked the 4-1 look on stock looking bikes but they do look good on well done cafes. I get a feeling you miss wrenching, hence the evolution?

I say just grab another 750 project and lets have another masterpiece underway

Yes, I know the 300s are a better option. I got a really good deal on the 341s and I don't really care too much about the performance on this bike, If I did I would stick with the 4-1. I just can't leave anything alone Rafi... I really do miss wrenching but have limited time with work and my girls sports schedule to start another project so playing with the K1 is a good fix. If the wright project comes my way I may start a slow build. I really want to do a 75/76 F restoration with another 915 in it, but it is a ways out.

I know exactly what you mean about slowly falling for the 4-4 look. I was going to get another MotoGP pipe for the current bike, but as time went on, I came to love the stock look more! (Even though they cost me 1/4 as much as the whole rest of the build!)

+1. I was lucky to recently acquire a nice set of 341's for a K1 project later this year.
Sure, it "should" have 300's, but good luck finding an original set.

Yep Stev-o. If the GT was a complete restoration I would have searched high and low for 300s but mine is far from that and never will be. I think these 341 re-pops will work just fine.

Pipes are on and the new back cut trans mission and C4 ignition have the bike running amazing. Finally got a break in my daughters soccer schedule and got out for some much needed miles.

The K1 is a blend of old and new and I love the way it feels on the road...
