What pipes are these?
« on: November 14, 2013, 08:29:18 pm »
Need you guys hawk eyes to identify these.  I thought these were Carpy pipes, but I haven't seen his pipes with internal baffle and the rear mount, plus looks like there seems to be enough room to remove oil filter without removing the pipes.  Any thoughts on this? May be later generation yoshi pipes?

Here are pics of my machine bent yoshi pipe.  AFAIK, they never came with internal baffling welded in, or a mount welded on, but that could have been done after purchase.  It looks nicer than a Carpy pipe, so if his asking price is reasonable, I'd snap it up.

Got two pipes like that, and I thought they were yoshi..two styles of outlet but similar bend, fitment unknown but I think one had a Yoshi marking.
So I was thinking those are second generation and the last pic on here is third generation.

Will try to look mine over today.

pretty sure that is a Bassani but I would need to see the underside of the collector to be sure.

This is the only other pic I got for the pipes.  The guy wanted $300!  Should I even bother to go check it out?

This might not help you. Here's a yohi l learned was made to the end of the 80's.  Similar bracket.  Doesn't look like the pipe in your pictures ever had a tag riveted to it either.

albertaboy, do you still have that pipe. It looks identical to the pipe on my 750, the plate at the back is long gone but it has the same step down weld where the muffler is attached and the mounting tab is the same. I'd love to see pics of yours from the front as well as the number of holes in the end plate of the baffle as well as a measurement from rivet to rivet, possibly from the end of the pipe to the mounting tab hole.

A PO had bbq painted it, last year I wire wheeled it back to bare chrome and the only ID mark I could find was the number 750 stamped into the muffler on the backside of the pipe near the mountin tab. Any chance you can take a coue more pics and a measurement or two?

Nice overall condition after all cleaned up.

Here's a short version,  met a local guy through CL a while back.  He's a flipper/hoarder and fixes up these bikes and flip for profit.  He knows a lot about our bikes, but doesn't do internal engine work.  He has a 550 with seized up motor, so I sort of made a deal to help him with the engine, and that's how I got the 750 pipes for cheap price :).
