RE-JETTING Honda CB 400 F for K&N filters

 HI I HAVE A HONDA CB 400 F MOTOR PROBABLY 75 0r 76 AND I WAS THINKING OF EVENTUALLY  CAFE RACING  THE BIKE SO NEED TO KNOW WHAT SIZE JETS AND K&N FILTERS TO PUT ON IT. I LIVE IN THE UK NEAR BRISTOL AND IT WOULD BE REALLY HELPFUL IF SOME ONE COULD POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION IN LOCATING CORRECT JETS AND FILTERS WITH IN THE UK MANY THANKS RICHARD  :)

For jets with pods try 85 mains and 38 pilots as a start... though 400f's don't always run very well at all on pods. You should be able to get the pilots from Dave Silvers, for mains try them or Allens Performance (who probably do the pilots too actually). Keep all the stock stuff to convert it back with later!

For pods I would recommend Hitchcocks - yes, the Royal Enfield dealers - who supply S&B filters which IMO are every bit as good as K&Ns. Have a look at their site. I bought four for my 750F2 at around £60 inc. VAT and P&P.

For mains, I've always used Allens Performance. Very helpful and very quick delivery. Never bought slows, so don't know if they supply them.

As has been said, don't chuck away the original parts. You CAN get pods to work, but it can take quite a bit of trial and error to get them right. Good luck!
