I purchased a 1980 Cm400A for $200.00. No title no keys. I had a title recovered and then switched all the locks. I was originally going to build it for my wife to learn, but lets face it, she's not interested. This motorcycle is 100% factory. Everything was there including the mouse nest that used to be an airfilter. I bought a (already cut) frame so I can keep the original one uncut. I rebuilt the carbs and changed the oil. She fired right up. I am now turning this into a very classic style hardtail. Factoring in the 400a engine has made me believe that I can literally run a single lever for front brakes and have a VERY minimalistic build. Se here it begins. Sitting atop my newly build work table waiting to get striped. The color of the powder-coat on the wheels is being worked into the whole picture. I had originally intended to go with an off white, texture powder and an emerald metallic paint which i am carrying over to the new direction.
