Nothing substantial.  Covers going back on and getting the front end together.  Rearsets and headlight ears go on today.  I ended up with the Emgo ears.  I saw nothing I really liked except for the Joker ears, but they are $200+.  Seriously?  Wiring should be buttoned up too.  Brake calipers broken down and to the powder coater with the discs.  Then off to Godfrey.

Installed the new Ikon shocks. 



Axled up the wheels so I can have a roller and get the bike off the stand.  Those are the 550's wheels though because I'm still waiting for the Sun rims to get laced up.



Then I finished the rebuild of both master cylinders and front and rear calipers.  Godffrey (Jeff) has the rotors which are being drilled and lightened.  The only issue I have is that I have 2 small o-rings left over for the front caliper.  They are not the o-rings which are for the caliper holder pin - those are accounted for.  I think they may be joint seals or dampener o-rings, however, when checking the parts micro fiche and the Clymer manual, there are no joint seals or o-rings depicted on the front caliper exploded view.  Does anyone know where these go?  When I stripped the front caliper for powder coating I was very careful to put all parts in a baggy. 

The polished holders and powder coated calipers came out like new.  I am eliminating the caliper pipe.  I have new SS lines from Slingshot so there is a line going from the splitter directly into the caliper.

In person it's actually somewhat a lighter blue - but it is reminiscent of Suzuki.  Another color has been added.  The gas cap cover is silver too.

Just returned from Cape Town SAF to find paint finished.  Here's a mock up.  Side covers not shown-simple gloss black. Seat pad is being upholstered in grey leather.  Waiting for the black Sun rims to be laced.  Then about finished for this first phase!

Rear master cylinder rebuild.  Need help.  I found a Honda OEM rebuild kit for the rear.



When I disassembled the rear master cyclinder, this was the order of the parts that were removed within the MC bore (I omitted the cir-clip).  The cylinder bore would be to the right.  There was no little rubber cup which came with the rebuild kit (see last pic).



The rebuild kit came with a small rubber end cap.  It's the last item on the right in the pic below.  That piece was not in the master cylinder - I am certain. I did not leave it behind in the bore.  The bore is clean.  I have no idea where this rubber cap is supposed to go, but my guess is that it goes on one end of the spring.  I looked in the manuals and a couple different parts fiche.  The literature shows some type of end fitting on the outer end of the spring (the smaller diameter end), but I can't tell if its the little "dome" piece or the rubber cap.  The PO probably omitted the little rubber cap in a prior rebuild.  Anyone know the proper order of assembly?

its a shame that muffler hangar didn't align with the passenger peg. Wouldn't have been too convenient for that cosmic event I guess.

I don't think you want to hang your exhaust on the shock mount, especially if you are thinking of the lower mount.  The lower mount will move up and down with the swingarm bending the hell out of your pipe.  Hanging it to the top mount will look pretty fugly, too.  I would suggest a lateral mount from the hanger on the exhaust pipe back to the passenger peg.  If you do it in black, it will be less noticeable.

I used a tensioned spring to mount mine laterally to the rearset bracket (bung on rear of pipe not shown). Makes removal quite simple.

I don't think either the K or F has a mount anywhere near the hanger welded onto the can.

This one is a head scratcher.  I was only considering the top shock mount for the hanger.  The mounting tab on the can is offset outboard from the shock mount.  A hanger would be butt ugly indeed.  A lateral mount from the passenger peg may not provide sufficient support unless its a 2 sided angle mount.  I am thinking a ring around the pipe just in front of the can may work with the passenger peg, but then the mounting tab on the can looks out of place.  I may have to get Mr. North's input on this one.
