Pamco plug gaps

Cb550k 76

What would be the optimal plug gap for the pamco ignition on cb550... What disadvantages would occur if overgapped?

I have a K2 CB750 with a pamco ignition together with the 17-6903 coils (the beefy ones). I'm running 0.035" gaps comfortably & the bike is running great. Pamcopete says that gap is fine for those coils and could possibly be pushed out to 0.040" if one wished (read it on a xs650 website).
If your running a lesser coil, then probably stick with stock gaps.

Even though you have a pamco, I'd stick with a stock gap recommended for a cb900 if thats the coils you are using, but perhaps the upper range of what honda recommends for the cb900 plug gap, & try that.
