« on: November 24, 2013, 08:42:08 AM »
Hi
I knew that the throttle of K0 is much heavier than a K1 cause of the four wires...but i didnt knew that it was that heavy...
i have a new throttle cable so its not a matter of that...
can i make something for that except changing carb to K1??
is it possiple to cut the slides springs little??
Thanks

There are other options. Try Googling "motorcycle throttle assist" I have a K0, but haven't felt the need to try any of them, but then I don't do all day rides either.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Check to make sure all the components are working correctly before getting into modifications.  There could be something binding or rubbing inside the throttle grip assembly or the cable may be routed so there's a sharp bend restricting movement.

I had the same problem on my cb500.. Great four arm work out.. but not fun riding... I lubed all the carb linkage, and removed the throttle grip, cleaned and regreased the handle bar.. Now its like butter...

Try loosening the carb tops and add a little WD40. Helped my slides. They also had sticky varnish on them so if you haven't cleaned them try that too. Have you lubed the new cable?

Those ARE the best carbs of all of of the CB750's.

You can remove all of the jets without removing the carbs.
All adjustments are easy to get to.
You can remove the slides with out removing the carbs.
No lifter arms and no shafts. Much lighter carb rack.
Those bikes had the most power.
The float bowls remove with a simple clip.
You do not have to remove the entire carb rack to remove the float bowls.

Make sure you check the 4 into 1 throttle box and that it has lube inside.

See my other posts about setting up the throttle cable so that you can adjust the idle of all 4 carbs by only turning ONE adjuster. Very important.

Thanks Lucky, I need to lube my 4 into 1 cable too. Didn't think of that.

Thanks L

Don,

Set the idle screws so all 4 of them line up with the "T: mark on the idle adjust shaft.
Then only use the adjust on the cable up by handle bar to adjust the idle of all of the carbs. You will have a lot less problems.

Sorry, I did´nt get this. Is it somewhere explained in more detail? What do you mean with "idle adjust shaft"?
