New PD 42b carbs
« on: November 25, 2013, 06:24:51 AM »
I just bought a set of carbs just to have as a spare. When I break them down for inspection and cleaning what is the best way to tell if the high speed needle set is oem or after market and if they are the correct size? Do they have any thing stamped on them?
Thanks in advance.

OEM needles have numbers stamped on them, which correlate with the numbers found in the carb specs in the manual. I noticed this when I stripped my PD41s recently, so would guess it would be the same for PD42s. However, if aftermarket needles are stamped similarly, not sure how that would narrow things down for you? :-\
